Summary: This is a truly glorious hotel. Its astoundingly quiet. The most spacious room I've ever had in Europe. The staff speaks English and is forgiving of my bad Portuguese.

Summary: We like to stay in hotels settled in historic buildings like the ones of the Spanish Paradores. The Pousada reminded us of it. The spacious rooms in a quiet ambiance with antic furniture a fire place, piano and oil paintings on the walls were appealing to us. The room also had several English language TV channels to catch up on latest news. The breakfast on the house was excellent and the best we had on our entire 4 week trip in Spain and Portugal. However, on a Sunday night there were limited dining options in walking distance from the hotel.

Summary: Lots of parking. Very friendly stuff. Very good service. We got bottle of wine and nice plate with cake and strawberries. Very nice breakfast with extra for birthday girl :). Very nice place to stay. Would go back again!

Summary: A unique historic hotel, loaded with the charm. Very friendly and helpful staff and wonderful breakfast buffet. Only downside was the air conditioning did not work well. Fortunately for us, we had beautiful weather with cool nights so sleeping with open windows was not a problem.
