Summary: Wow, what a wonderful property and the the property manager Guilio was everything you could ask for and attentive to all of our needs and anticipated things we never even thought of, like restaurant reservations at Orvietto, an Italian breakfast served at our room and many more!! This was the final leg of our 11 day trip in Italy and I was with my wife and our three teenaged daughters and everyone needed some down time to relax under the Umbrian sun and this property fit the bill!! Sitting atop a mountainside, the views were spectacular, the property was extremely clean and comfortable and the pool was all you could ask for. This property was centrally located to Rome and Florence, but far enough off the beaten track to be a gem! I give it and Guilio and ten and cannot thank them enough! Grazie!!!

Summary: We had a lovely welcome from Giulio who provided some great helpful advice on what to do and what to see. Giulio and Daniele keep the property in very good order. One of them was always available if needed. The apartment was a short drive (5-10 mins) outside of Orvieto with ready access to out of town supermarkets meaning that we did not have to actually go into Orvieto every time. If the bedding was a little firm and the kitchen equipment a little basic the luxurious pool, the incredible views over Orvieto and the private terrace with bbq more than made up for it. Overall this was a really relaxed and enjoyable holiday where our children were free to use the pool at any time, even late into the night. I should mention that the apartment was not air conditioned but had ceiling fans. However, the property always felt cool and sleeping was never a problem. We stayed for two weeks and had a very lovely time and would stay again.

Summary: We traveled as a group of 8 friends, from Southern Italy to Northern Italy for one month in May, and I would describe our one week stay at this Villa, within view of the Duomo of Oriveto, as being the highlight of our trip. Not only is it located in a breathtakingly beautiful part of the country, but it is perfect for taking day trips and exploring this part of Umbria and its many wonders. All of the sights and activities that we wanted to do were easily accessible from our location with a short drive (all within an hour or less) by car. We wanted to spend time in Orvieto, visiting the beautiful duomo, touring the underground, and seeing the medieval palaces, but we also wanted to explore the region, including Lake Bolsena, go to the hot spring spas, and especially high on our list was to see the crumbling medieval town Civita di Bagnoregio. We rented 2 apartments located in a 200+ year old stone building which has all of the modern conveniences, including a good wi-fi connection and cell phone coverage. The apartments were adjacent, making it easy for a group to visit back and forth. Each apartment had plenty of privacy and were soundproof. The front terrace/decks were wonderful, with outdoor yard furniture, and spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, olive and lemon groves, and of the old hilltop town, Orvieto. In the mornings we would sit out on the terrace, drink our coffee and listen to the birds sing. The grounds consist of several acres. It is peaceful, quiet and the swimming pool is gorgeous (but it was still too cool in May to use it). Daniele, the property caretaker and groundsman, made us feel at home, and was he was always available to assist with any of our needs. The owners of the Villa were extremely hospitable, welcoming us with a bottle of local wine, and provided us with many tips about the surrounding country. n the evenings we would either cook our meals, after shopping at the local Co-op, or fresh produce and meats at the Farmer’s Market, or we would drive the short distance into Orvieto and go out to one of the many fine restaurants. The kitchens were well-stocked with just about anything that you would need, plenty of plates, pots and pans, coffeemaker, and ours even came with spices and homemade olive oil. This property is highly recommended for location, hospitality, and comfort.

Summary: We were two Belgian families renting the entire Villa at the property. An incredible price-quality: so much space, tasteful rooms and lots of privacy! We enjoyed the wonderful terras and garden and were welcomed with open arms by Daniele and Giulio! The only minor things that was disappointing were the showers (variable warm water). But the splendid pool compensated this! Thank you for this amazing address, be sure that we will recommend this to our friends (although it would be nice to keep it as a secret, just for us...); warm greetings, Evelyne Sauvage and family from Belgium

Summary: Amazing! Wonderful! Fantastic! These were the words we have been using over and over again to describe our time at the Residenza Monteporzano. We are a family of 12! Nana and Papa (Nonna and Nonno), their 3 daughters and the daughters' families. We spent a very lovely week at Monteporzano and felt extremely cared for. We were welcomed very warmly by Guilio and he gave us lots and lots of information about the region, what to see, where to go, how to get there, etc. In fact, we had many emails with Guilio before our visit to arrange our stay (traveling with a group of 12, as you can imagine, is no easy feat), and he was always very responsive and helpful. Through Guilio, we were connected with Chef Fracesco who prepared 3 exquisitely delicious dinners for us during our stay. Our kids ranged from 4 to 21, the adults from 41 to 82 - ALL enjoyed our time there. Three families (two families of 2 and one family of 4) stayed in the awesome villa - 4 bedrooms with private bathrooms and a family room upstairs, kitchen, family room, bathroom downstairs, with direct access to a beautiful terrace and yard. We ate all our meals at the large table out back, stopping every 5 minutes to remark on the breath-taking vistas all around us. Another family of four enjoyed one of the upstairs apartments, with two bedrooms, a large living room and two bathrooms. We all enjoyed the beautiful pool! And when Guilio had to be away, the property manager Daniele took exceptional care of us - one time making reservations for us at a lovely roadside restaurant Cacciatore (on the way to Lake Bolsena) and then calling the restaurant while we were there to ensure we arrived safely and were being treated like royalty! Residenza Monteporzano is a place we would LOVE to return to again and again. Thank you Guilio!!! With much love and gratitude, The Ray Family

Summary: We loved everything about our stay at the Residenza Monteporzano the only downside is that we didn't stay long enough. The apartments we stayed in were clean and very comfortable. Guilio (the owner) was very welcoming and did everything he could to make our stay more enjoyable. The residence has a wonderful history and the Olive Oil is delicious - be sure and bring some home with you!
