Beautiful full floor in a Landmarked 19th Century Balinese Carriagehouse and private Garden on a quiet tree lined block, and close to the subway. The apartment is a 1000sf, one bedroom plus dining room/guest room & Private Garden.
The Carriagehouse is a Beautiful place that has an ideal location plus so many amenities. Great for a shortterm plus long stay whether you are renovating your apartment or visiting the Clinton Hill/Fort Greene neighborhood.
The apartment is best described as a full floor, large two bedroom with the second bedroom being used as formal dining room.
Featured in various film and TV shows and rented by various film and TV celebrities,the apartment is a one of a kind combo of luxury, privacy and old world charm. It has been renovated and restored with lots of original details down to the brass rings for tying up the horses back when it was a stable in 1849. There are high ceilings, bamboo floors, exposed brick walls with modern touches such as a large 42" flatscreen TV, a Waterworks limestone bath with an exposed French shower, a full kitchen, a six foot limestone island, dishwasher and washer/drier.
The place has great light and is extremely quiet and is fully furnished with comfortable furniture, Balinese antiques, and 2 couches for additional guests' accommodation. Plus Beautiful cotton Sheets, towels and a fully stocked (pots,pans dishes) kitchen make for a super luxurious feel.
The living room has a 84 inch couch,and a a 60 inch daybed. The dining room,(which doubles as a guest room), has a banquette which is a queen sized futon when pulled out.
The bedrooms are on opposite ends of the apartment for privacy. The Dining room, when not needed as a guest room, functions as a beautiful sunroom with plants plus light and views over the private garden. The table is an original Saarinen tulip table.The apartment is located in the desirable area of Brooklyn that's close to Manhattan , Fort Greene/Clinton Hill. There are may restaurants nearby and the train is 2 blocks away. Animals are allowed and non barking Dogs are approved on a case by case. There’s a small nightly upcharge for dogs.
Utilities including electricity and Wifi/TV cable are extra and billed separately for stays over one week.

Summary: This property was a great size! An amazing location with restaurants and shopping a short walk away, and Kathleen is a perfect host! Checked in just enough 😃 We loved the decor and were thrilled to be able to travel with our dogs. A quick and easy trip into Manhattan for class at the Center for Book Arts. We would definitely stay again when we return!

Summary: Bohemian paradise unique fun great peaceful comfort close to diverse ethnic food , Greek ,Indian ,Vietnamese , sushi, great Italian on the same block, great school next door dogs welcome . Private garden space on first floor. We stayed almost a full month. Like home

Summary: This charming completely renovated/updated historic Carriage house is a one-of-a-kind property, a hidden gem. The images presented online accuratrely reflect the interior/exterior spatial layout and decor of the property capturing the overall aesthetic of a well-traveled bohemian vibe crossed with modern luxuries and ammenities one would expect to find at a boutique hotel. The combination of staying in a beautifully renovated historic property with an incredible outdoor patio to sip coffee in the morning and wine in the evening was one of the highlights we enjoyed. We also enjoyed being surrounded by a stunning art and textile collection that included black and white photographs, persian rugs, and collected art and architectural artifacts from accross the globe. Ammenities that we appreciated included luxurious sheets, lofty down comfortors and pillows for both the main bedroom and the pull-out futon. The bedroom and the futon area are located at opposite ends of the carriage house, each has a door that can be closed to provide privacy, which we appreciated. The kitchen is fully outfitted with a collection of really nice glassware, servingware, cookware, and important to our family, a coffee pot. The stainless steel appliances were immaculate. There are several areas to serve food, drinks - around the island, the living room, the dining room, the patio - which we enjoyed. A special note: The plumbing accesories selected for this property are amazing... especially the shower! We took care to move the small bathroom rug located in front of the sink over a bit during showers as the water extends a bit across the floor from the spray. Essentials to know... The host lives above this property and was extremely accomodating with regard to arrival, depature, helping us get settled, and orienting us with the surrounding area and restaurant recommendations. This property is integrated within a wonderful neighborhood and a short walk away from restaurants, bodega's, subway, etc... The front and rear entry door have a metal locking gate and a double dead-bolt lock for safety. There is a surprising amount of sunlight emitted from the front and back windows, which is especially nice in the morning. Parking is easy to find day or night along the residential streets surrounding this property, with good lighting at night. Just take care to mind the signs regarding which side to park on Tuesdays.

Summary: This comfortable two bedroom is best for two adults and up to two children under 10. The outdoor sitting area makes the property particularly attractive in warmer months. The apartment is also very convenient to the "C" train, and there are a number of very good restaurants close by. One small issue is that the shower is not enclosed, and it's hard to avoid having a very wet bathroom floor. Kathleen is a very attentive host.
