This large studio apartment is on the ground floor (in most places outside of the US there are no basements, let alone basement apartments, so entrance is on the ground floor).
This apartment is in a private house located along the famous Hudson River promenade with panoramic views of the NYC skyline. It has direct and private access to a fully fenced-in backyard with a seating area and lawn, perfect for summer evening barbecues.

The apartment is fully furnished with everything you would need for a comfortable stay: fresh linens and towels, blankets, blow dryer, cooking utensils, microwave and coffee maker, toaster, water kettle, DVD player, iron and ironing board. The bed is queen-size and the sofa also pulls out to a full size bed, so 4 people can be accommodated very comfortably. There are numerous stores, including a grocery store, a laundromat and restaurants just around the corner from the apartment and just about everything you need at your doorstep. This apt is located in New Jersey right outside the Lincoln Tunnel. A short van or bus ride brings you right to 42nd Street, Times Square the mecca tourist hub and center of Manhattan. All public transportation into Manhattan is on the corner of the street; vans and buses run every 5 minutes, including all night. The bus ride into Times Square 42nd Street is 10 minutes during off-peak hours.

Summary: We stayed for 9 nights. We loved being at this quiet location in a lovely neighborhood with tons of restaurants and shopping minutes away. So much better and more affordable than staying in Manhattan. This basement property (not on the ground floor) is an easy 15-25 minute bus ride to Times Square on New Jersey transit, depending on traffic in the Lincoln Tunnel (MTA cards not accepted). It's cozy and has everything you need -- kitchen, small fridge, dehumidifier and a futon couch (which opens up if you have more than 2 guests). The following are not complaints, but just to make your stay easier. The Wi-Fi service is sketchy and unpredictable. Sometimes great, sometimes not. Also, if you use too many electrical appliances at the same time, the fuse will blow. Make sure you ask where the fuse switch is so you can easily turn it back on in case this happens (we didn't know this until we discovered warm food in the fridge). And while the property listed a washer and dryer, there aren't any on the property, you have to go to a laundromat nearby. And when we ran out of soap and toilet paper (again we were there 9 nights), the landlord would not replenish them. With these caveats, we still HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property for the price.
