3 Bedroom Cottage in Marcellus

Location: Big Fish Lake, Southwest, Michigan, Big Fish Lake in Marcellus, MI. (30 Miles SW of Kalamazoo)
Saturday To Saturday booking only.
Check in at 4:00 pm…check out at 10:00 am
We ONLY do weekly rentals during the summer months.
Bedrooms consist of:
#1 King Bed, twin day bed, twin trundle, and plasma TV, with satellite.
#2 Queen Bed
#3 Queen bed, and bunk with twin on top, full on bottom
**Queen Blow up mattress available for use for additional people**
Remodeled Kitchen with breakfast bar and stools, dishwasher, kitchen table seats 8. All the basic necessities are included: coffee maker, toaster, microwave oven, stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, and all the cookware, dishes & utensils. Central air-conditioning and heat, ceiling fan in the family room with a big flat-screen TV, satellite, and DVD player. Washer/Dryer, 1 full bath with a bathtub/shower, bath #2 powder room. Deck has outdoor speakers from indoor stereo w/ CD changer, grill, table and chairs perfect for late-night poker/board games, meals-overlooking the lakeside backyard and nightly sunsets. The private beach has fire pit and chairs.
Large yard for additional activities such as wiffleball, volleyball, tag football, etc.. Fishing right from the pier is fantastic. The lake has large and smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, perch, bluegills, and crappies. The back lot is also available for more activities or extra parking. The paved side drive has a basketball hoop. This lake is a hidden gem with super low boat traffic.
Sand bottom shallow entry into the lake from the private beach. Pier has space available to dock your own boat.
The Rock restaurant with live music and awesome food is walking distance from our front door.
Several wineries nearby that would love you to swing by to try some samples, open year-round.
Several golf courses and a driving range in the area, the closest an eight-minute drive. Horseback riding, winery tours, and road biking from your doorstep to a few minutes away (email me for any specifics you need). Plenty of restaurants and entertainment in Marcellus/Lawton/PawPaw (pubs, restaurants, movies, bowling, ice cream barns, antique shops).
Two-hour drive from downtown Chicago, approximately one hour to Notre Dame/South Bend, 15 minutes to Paw Paw, 30 minutes to Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo. 10 minutes to Swiss Valley Ski Resort, 40 min drive to Timber Ridge Ski Resort.
Our lake home is clean and kid-friendly. We have a good assortment of kid and adult games that we leave up year-round. Pets allowed on a case by case basis. No smoking in the house.
In the long term, we are looking for a small, trusted group of families and responsible adults to rent to when we are not at the lake ourselves.

SKIING- Swiss Valley is a 10-minute drive, Timber Ridge is a 40-minute drive and also has a Tubing Park

WINERIES- Several Wineries nearby for touring, ask for more info.
DINING- We have a list of available dining and know the area well from our own experiences that we would gladly share.
Air Museum- Located in Kalamazoo 30 minute drive
Go Karts/paint Balling/Miniature Golf- a 20-minute drive
Notre Dame/South Bend- 1-hour 10-minute drive.
Western Michigan University- a 30-minute drive

Summary: This cottage had everything we were looking for in a rental. The lake was beautiful with sandy beach and crystal clear waters. We were able to use our boat on three lakes and boat traffic was quiet. The house was immaculate and very inviting with a great open floor plan-lots of room for everyone! The beds were comfortable and the deck was a great place to congregate for meals and evening conversations. Our whole family loved our week at Big Fish Lake!

Summary: This was a very nice, fun get-away property! Good proximity to a nice playground and splash pad in Lawton and not a bad drive from Lake Michigan either. The private beach was nice and would have been great if we would have brought our boat. Would recommend, and will definitely consider coming back!

Summary: In all the years of renting from VRBO this is the first negative review I have ever written. The cottage itself was very clean and beautiful. We knew that we needed to bring our own linens, and towels. I asked about pillows and Michelle said they had plenty of pillows. I failed to ask about blankets and there were none. Both bathrooms had a small roll of toilet paper with no additional. We rented from Friday to Sunday and Monday I received an e-mail from Michelle stating that the alarm clock was missing from one of the bedrooms. I told her that I didn't recall seeing the clock and she said "Well it is missing and we will have to charge you for it'! I received my deposit minus the $76.00 she charged us for the Soundspa Clock Radio. We did Not take her alarm clock and there is no recourse if she decides not to return your deposit.

Summary: Our family had a wonderful time at the Haller home on Big Fish Lake. The home is beautiful, clean, cozy and I love the open concept of the family room and kitchen. This home has everything you need to have an enjoyable vacation. Plus, the beds are so comfortable! Their beach is the best on the lake. Our granddaughter had the best time playing in the sand, and they provide all the beach toys and plenty of chairs to sit around the firepit at night. Their deck off the family room is very spacious and we spent every evening enjoying the amazing sunsets! I also absolutely loved Big Fish lake, especially because it has channels that connects you to Finch and Saddlebag lakes. The Haller house also has the perfect location because it is only steps away from The Rock restaurant on Big Fish lake. Michelle is also so easy to work with and she is very responsive to any questions or concerns you may have. I would highly recommend the Haller home for your next family vacation!
