Summary: Property was exactly as pictured and described. We were so.happy with our stay that brought together 3 generations for new years plus our dog! The house was warm, especially with use of the fire on the very cold and snowy nights! Beds were comfy and all amenities were as described!

Summary: This is a wonderful place for a quiet family gathering/vacation. There are two floors that allow a bit of separation between the noist youths and the more sedate grownups, as well as a very well-equipped shared kitchen in the livingroom/diningroom area upstairs. We were there for a few days of winter break, when it was snowy outside with temperatures below zero fahrenheit. Insulation and temperature control in the house were very good, and we enjoyed seeing the wintery woodsy views from our windows, cooking our group meals, watching movies and playing together. The hosts welcome pets, and our two dogs loved the cozy hangout with their favorite people too. Beds were comfortable.Keep in mind that if you want a kitchen stocked with foods for cooking, you'll have to travel about 30-40 minutes each way to find the supplies you want (e.g., to the Aldi's), so plan well. Getting on the highways isn't the best way to spend a relaxing winter vacation. Also, keep in mind that this house is only a good fit for people that are comfortable with stairs: The main entrance is on the 2nd floor, and that's also where the kitchen, LR and DR are. The place is very well equipped and comfortable, we had no real complaints. If most guests aren't comfortable getting in and out of bunk-beds with low clearance, this might be a bit of a problem too. It's best if no more than 5 or so of the 12 guests are very tall, to avoid hitting heads on upper bunks.If you're into eating take-out or eating out, I suggest researching the area ahead of time so you're not disappointed or put out. Lastly, we went out for a short but gorgeous hike about 13 minutes away by car, to a local waterfall (Hawk Falls Trailhead in Waze should get you there.) It's an easy hike.At the end of your stay, you have to collect all your trash and load it in a car to transport it to the local dump, about 10-15 minute's drive. You'll be asked to provide your license plate/s info prior to arrival and receive tags to let your car into that dump. Entering the dump without proper registration may get you a hefty fine, but it should be very easy to get this right.The contact person for the property was very responsive, answered all our questions quickly and helpfully.In sum - highly recommended!
