A superb detached south facing villa with private heated luxury pool, perfect for all sun worshippers. Situated just 15 minutes drive to the beach, located in the unspoilt hamlet of la vieille malvergne, 2 mins walk from the chateau, just outside the lakeside village of Martinet, in the sunny vendee region of south west france. The property sleeps up to five people. Set in private mature gardens, children can play in a very safe environment and one can relax. The 2 bedroom villa is fully equipped with lovely heated pool, sun terrace, gazebo for alfresco dining into the evening. Summary: The property is very well equipped for a family of 4 or indeed two couples. The large heated swimming pool is fantastic and has a patio area with a built-in bar-b-que. The furniture in the sitting room has leather settees, bookcases and a wood burner. We didn't light the wood burner as the weather in June was lovely but I am sure on a cold night it would make the room very cosy. The property was clean and tidy and we found the cleaning lady very helpful. It is only 8k from the coast with plenty of interesting places to visit. A great place for the kids and the whole family.

Summary: What a fantastic place this is. We stayed for 7 nights at the end of the summer holidays. Travelled with 2 boys aged 12 and 10 who loved the pool and gardens. Flights to Nantes with Easyjet and then just ovr an hour in the hire car that we collected from the airport. The villa is really well equipped with everything you need. We also had days out to local coastal towns that were beautiful. There are supermarkets within a 10 minute drive so you can stock up for the week. A fantastic place to simply relax, or a great base for days out.

Summary: We have not holidayed in this area before but are so glad we did as this villa was the perfect place for our holiday in the Vendee. The property is really well maintained, light airy and with so many little touches and everything that you could need whilst on holiday with your family which we really appreciated. In fact this villa was so much more than we were expecting !! The house was roomy as described with comfy sofa's and we loved sitting in the lounge with the sun coming through the french doors to the patio where we could eat out at night or have a BBQ was really easy as everything was there that we needed. The pool was great and it was hard to get the kids out when it was time to go as they enjoyed it so much, and the water temperature was warm enough everyday so they could swim and I could relax with a glass on wine in a lounger :-) What I also loved about this holiday was it was so easy to get to the coast from here and the beaches we visited nearby were beautiful and really quite deserted and the kids loved swimming and trying to surf the waves. We has day trips to St Gilles where the shopping was great and stayed one night for the night market which was so much fun. A local restaurant to recommend is called cafe d'arts where we had one of the best meals ever with a creme brûlée that was heavenly. We also visited Bretignolles sur mer where the beach was stunning, miles of sand and great for rock pools. I would highly recommend this villa as it is the perfect place for a family holiday. It was so quiet all the time so you could really relax ( my favourite part was the window shutters so the kids stayed in bed longer and gave us a much needed lie in!!). Thanks James for your friendly help with ideas of where to go and visit. We will certainly be back in 2016.
