Private Gite rental
We, the owners live in the adjacent part of the property. We have a separate entrance and fenced garden on the property, therefore social distancing can easily be maintained whilst staying in our gite.
The accommodation is perfect for small groups who wish to luxuriate in space, privacy with use of a luxurious pool and hot tub.

Sleeps 2 to 4 adults in 2 bedrooms, with 2 bathrooms (1 is en-suite)
Very comfortable and fully equipped open plan living / kitchen / dining.
We have WiFi everywhere and we mean everywhere....in the Gites, by the pool and all over the garden! You can surf the net in the sun or the shade, indoors or outside, drink in hand or with your feet in the pool.
We have a 4G mobile signal.
Luxury swimming pool - 11 x 5m. Large Roman steps provide easy access to the pool. Pool heater + a high quality roll back conservatory pool cover. The cover provides 100% UVA and UVB protection. The pool is heated to 30c.
There is a 5 seater hot tub/jacuzzi.
Sun loungers, table & chairs available by the pool. Large terrace with BBQ (Charcoal), wooden table and chairs. Selection of adult bikes free of charge. Shaded parking. Over 1/2 acre of gardens for sole use by gite guests, with many mature trees offering plenty of shade.
As people who enjoy cooking, we have provided everything we would hope to find in a fully equipped kitchen - full size cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, knives, serving dishes, kettle, teapot and all cooking utensils. There is a washing machine, iron & ironing board.

Modern flat screen HD ready TVs, Satellite TV (with English free to air channels), and DVD. French TV.
Large selection of books & games (English).
First floor 1 x king size - with en-suite bathroom (shower).

Cathedral ceiling and beautiful exposed beams is accessed by steep stairs. Black out blind.
Hairdryers and fans provided in each bedroom.
Air conditioning unit in 2nd bedroom
To minimise the amount of luggage you need to bring all bed linen and towels are provided and included in the price, including pool towels. For 2 week bookings, a fresh set of linen and towels will be provided for the 2nd week. Please note, we do not provide bed linen for the cot.
Smoking - In the interest of safety and the comfort of fellow / subsequent guests, we kindly request that you refrain from smoking inside the gite
We live discreetly on site, here if you need help with booking restaurants, tourist attractions etc or out of sight other than maintaining the pool area and watering the geraniums.
Sorry we don’t take pets as we have just got a new puppy (Jan 2023). Lula is a Dutch shepherd.
We have had two large dogs over the last 19 years, so lots of experience, we lost our previous dog, Nelly (Dutch Shepherd cross) in November 2021. We were unsure whether we’d get another, but couldn’t resist.
Our part of the property faces the opposite direction to the gîte. We have a separate entrance and have now fully fenced part of the garden so that she won’t both you. She’ll be a bundle of life when you arrive.

Summary: We had a wonderful week in this beautiful part of France. Alison and Alex were amazing hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The Gite had everything we needed, the garden, pool and hot tub were all spotless. Such a quiet and peaceful place. Thoroughly recommend.

Summary: We have just come back from an amazing 2 week stay. Alison and Alex were the perfect hosts. They gave us a very warm welcome, showing us around the Gite, explaining where everything was and how things worked. The Gite contained everything you could possibly want for a comfortable stay. The pool and hot tub were amazing, I think our son was in the pool everyday. It was so lovely in the evenings sat in the garden, having a barbecue and a glass of wine, we are definitely going to miss that now we are home! For us as a family it was the perfect stay and we will definitely be returning.

Summary: The accommodation was great and has been renovated to a high standard - it had everything we needed for our stay and more. It was the perfect place to chill and come back to after days out - we had many a relaxing evening cooking and playing board games with the girls. A great patio and gardens with a fantastic view. The covered heated pool was fantastic, as was the hot tub. Even on the cooler days and evenings we were able to enjoy a good swim! The location offers easy access to a wide range of places and activities - from canoeing on the Dordogne, to the caves, Lascaux and countless beautiful villages such as Domme and Lemeuil. Alison and Alex were very welcoming, and we hope to be able to return at some point in the next few years. We've had many holidays in France, and this was by far our favourite Gite. Summary: The house was very nice, clean and comfortable. Alison and Alex (and Lula the dog) were very friendly, helpful and discreet. The pool is lovely, especially as you can leave it covered in the hot sun. The jacuzzi is wonderful, especially in the evening when it is dark. And the kitchen is extremely well equipped with all kinds of kitchen utensils .. Thanks for the nice stay Alison and Alex. Voor de Nederlanders, ga op zoek naar twee Nederlandse romans die ik heb achter gelaten. ;-)

Summary: Le Mongeat is ideally situated within easy reach of the main towns in the Dordogne region, just far enough from the hustle and bustle. The gite itself is charming, well maintained and surrounded by beautiful gardens . The kitchen is especially well equipped for a holiday let. The pool was also great given the exceptional weather we had, and we enjoyed watching the sunsets in this very peaceful setting. Last, but not least, Alison and Alex were the perfect hosts, so discreet you would hardly know that they live next door. Overall, would highly recommend.

Summary: We had a wonderful 2 week stay. The property had everything we needed and was situated in a fantastic place. Just a short walk from the village, which had a convenient mini market and restaurant. Our hosts, Alison and Alec couldn’t have been more helpful. From recommendations of where to eat to collecting us from the village when we got caught in a rain shower! We were even invited to join them at their local area annual shindig, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you both for a wonderful stay, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you

Summary: We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the above property. Exactly as described online, wonderful gite, wonderful location, peace and quiet but not too far away from lots of busy towns. Highly recommend a stay here. Hosts Alex and Alison were delightful and made us feel right at home and always on call for advice on what to do and where to go. Great holiday with the family and looking forward to going back there again.
