Perfect central location for exploring Andalusian villages, towns and using as a central base for visiting the amazing cities of Granada, Cordoba and Sevilla.
Awarded a tourist licence by the Spanish Tourist Board, it is set on one level, and the spacious cottage boasts amazing panoramic views towards the Sierra de Loja and Sierra Nevada mountains and the surrounding rolling olive groves. The ideal rural peaceful, getaway holiday destination away from the crowds,offering privacy and seclusion. Perfect for lazy days by the pool, walking the signposted trails next to the cottage, star gazing the night skies with the no light pollution.
It has a large 10mx5m private, tiled pool (unheated) with large terrace ideal for lazing around during the long hot summer months, along with sunbeds and two pergolas for shade.
The cottage is comfortable and has good quality furnishings and has one bedroom with a comfortable king size bed, a large open plan kitchen/diner and sitting room, plus a bathroom with fully tiled shower. Air conditioning offering welcome relief from hot summer days. A flat screen TV with firestick , Netflix and Spanish TV channels . Wi Fi in all areas including by the pool. Bose Bluetooth speaker for your use .
There is a separate laundry room, complete with a washing machine. Step outside the front door to a totally private large terrace equipped with table and chairs, chairs to relax, read and enjoy the amazing views. There is also a Weber gas barbecue for alfresco dining.
Set amongst olive groves,the cottage is situated along a very good track which is easily accessible from the main road . A good car is essential for your stay. Algarinejo (about 15 mins away in the car) is the last village and old stronghold of Granada province, originally built by the Moors. Although a very quiet village there are a few bars and restaurants including an award winning restaurant, which offers an amazing experience of a tasting menu of 15 courses of the local food. Free tapas is available with drinks - as Algarinejo is located in Granada Province. Other beautiful, historical towns and villages like Priego de Córdoba and Montefrio are approximately half an hour away by car, as well as beautiful, hilltop Iznajar with its stunning lake, beach and water sports activities. A little bit further, however, less than an hours drive away is the wonderful city of Granada with its famous Alhambra, and also the typically Spanish town of Antequera ( approx 1 hour away) with its very good shops, restaurants and bars .
The Renfe high speed train available from the nearby town of Loja links to major cities like Malaga, Córdoba and Sevilla and the rest of Spain. Journeys are reasonably priced , quick and very comfortable and there is free parking at the station .
For the bird and wildlife enthusiasts you can relax on the pool terrace and watch the red capped swallows dip into the pool, spot the hoopoes, azure winged magpies, honey buzzards, hen harriers and short toed eagles, to name some. Within an hours drive you can be in the parque de Subettica where the largest colony of Griffin Vultures can be seen and also other birds of prey.
A welcome pack of essential milk, bread, wine! etc is provided on arrival. Also some basic toiletries, shower gel, toilet rolls . The kitchen is equipped with tea, coffee, oils, spices, kitchen rolls etc
Towels, robes and pool towels are provided and are changed mid stay if staying for 2 weeks.
