Minutes to downtown The Dalles and an hour and a half from Portland, relaxation awaits in this two bedroom home nestled among cherry orchards. Two generous living rooms and a front patio boast sweeping views of the Columbia River Gorge, Mount Adams and the surrounding farmlands. A pellet stove in the front living room creates a cozy atmosphere during winter nights, and a firepit outside invites toasty smores on spring evenings. Comfortably and eclectically furnished, two bedrooms feature new queen beds and fresh linens with an additional queen sized pull-out bed available upon request in the family room. The bathroom includes a tub for post-hike soaks, and a washer and dryer are located in the mudroom.
Nearby attractions include hiking, sailing, whitewater rafting, museums and bike trails. Antique shops, a winery, craft breweries and a whole host of delightful restaurants are situated in downtown, The Dalles. Hood River and the Fruit Loop are just 30 minutes away, and Mount Hood Meadows is just an hour's drive.
Located on five acres of active farmland, this home offers an experience unique to the Columbia River Gorge. We instantly fell in love with this house, this view, this property and this town and are thrilled to share it with guests!
As this is a working farm, access to the far side of the property, near the barn, may be required by us during the work week. Guests' privacy is of the utmost importance, so this will be coordinated beforehand.
While the home is situated on 5 inviting acres, we request that for guest's safety that they remain outside of the barn and other outbuildings.
As mentioned above, our home comfortably sleeps six people in beds, but more could be accommodated with the use of blow up mattresses, sleeping bags, etc. We don't provide this or the subsequent bedding, but guests are free to bring their own. We will charge an extra $25 per person after the initial six.
