Summary: Stunning views, isolation and 100s of acres to explore. Perfect set up for hunters but also great for those who like walking in beech forests, discovering lakes and rivers. Lots of birdlife and even shell fossils to unearth. And a cosy cabin, fully equipped with a great woodfire to return to.

Summary: A remote off the grid Lodge that suited us perfectly for a New Year's getaway. Brett was super-helpful, the lodge was well stocked and comfortable, views stunning and the bush walks outstanding! Really great for people who like a remote location with minimal distractions of urban environments.

Summary: The location of this lodge is just 2nd to none, you are literally in the middle of nowhere with the most amazing views everywhere the eye can see. Brett was a brilliant host, meeting us when we checked in and checking that all was ok during our stay. If we come back to NZ we would 100% stay here again and will be recommending it to our friends. The cabin is rustic but that is part of the charm, lovely (if not strenuous) walks off your doorstep.

Summary: My husband and I stayed here for one night of our two-week stay in New Zealand, touring both islands by car. The lodge is remote and deep into the countryside that we only had seen from the road so far. Brett, the owner, connected with me early on during my trip, and he personally drove us to the site, the final 200 meters through a meadow with ewes and their lambs. The views from the lodge were beautiful, and the next day Brett and his brother invited us to view them doing their sheep ranching duties. It was definitely a pure New Zealand cultural immersion experience in such a short time. I highly recommend it for those seeking these types of connections or for those who just want to getaway from it all.

Summary: A truly outstanding lodge in a spectacular location - the photos really do not do it justice. Wonderfully isolated and close to great hiking trails. Watching the sunset with drinks and the log burner on the deck was a highlight. The lodge is very warm and comfortable and finished to a high standard. Brett and Jenni were great to deal with and went above and beyond to make sure that we had an enjoyable stay. We would definitely recommend staying here and can't wait to return.

Summary: An incredible few days at Tableland, with ever changing views of the Ruahines, by sunrise, morning mist, eeiy swirling cloud, and of course epic sun sets. In keeping with the remote location Tableland is intended to run without power (although there is a generator for hot showers and lighting should you feel the need!) this lodge has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Around the lodge is a private bush walk, and a short drive to day walks to such as Rangiwahia hut, and further afield. Teaming in birdsong and deer bounding around the hillsides. We found a different swim spot everyday (thanks to Brett for his local knowledge!) and always returned to light the outdoor fire pit for roasting marshmallows - a highlight for our girls. Brett went the extra mile to make sure we had an enjoyable experience and we are incredibly grateful that his family share this magic spot.
