The Velvet Antler is the ultimate cabin in the woods! Sit by the fire or read on the porch as endless light flows in through the massive windows. Or spend your time in the hot tub or by the fire pit. There is no shortage of cozy spaces here!
The house is a 10 minute drive from the historic town of Woodstock, 30 minutes from Hunter and Belleayre Mountains, 40 minutes from Windham Mountain and just minutes from several gorgeous hiking trails & water holes!
The space: If you're looking for cozy in the winter and airy in the summer, The Velvet Antler is the place for you! The bedrooms are stocked with warm blankets, the floors have radiant heating and there's an incredible fireplace just calling your name. The sliding doors on the main floor provide sunshine all throughout the day and a view that can't be missed.
The Velvet Antler accommodates a maximum of 12 guests, however it sleeps 10 most comfortably. There are 6 beds (4 Queens and 2 Doubles), 3 air mattresses, and 2 couches.
The basement has a large, brand new sectional couch which is perfect for viewing your favorite Netflix shows on our smart TV. There's an open space in the basement for air mattresses and a full bathroom, as well. The washer/dryer is fully functional.
Outside you have the option of sitting by the fire pit, cooking on the grill, relaxing in the hot tub, or taking a refreshing dip in the outdoor shower (only functional in warm seasons).
The kitchen is fully functional with 2 ovens, a gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker.
This is the ideal home for a family or friends getaway!
Guest access: The keys will be left in a lock box and the code will be sent to guests prior to arrival.
Interaction with guests: We will not be around the property during the guest stay but are available via phone and email if needed.
Other things to note: There are security cameras located on the outside of the home; there are no cameras inside the home. During the winter, especially when it snows, it can be difficult for a regular car to get up the driveway. We suggest driving an all wheel drive vehicle during inclement weather. We can provide more information on this as needed.
**The Velvet Antler does not allow special events. Holidays are subject to additional charge.
To comply with local laws, we are permitted to rent to two adults per bedroom and unlimited children. Woodstock short term permit code STR260-123.

- No glass allowed in or around the hot tub - it is very dangerous! (plastic glasses are provided)

If anything breaks or isn't functioning properly, please let us know. And if you make a big mess, please treat our home as you would your own and clean up after yourself!

Summary: We LOVED this place and was perfect for our family/extended family. The kids LOVED having their own area downstairs and loved the property especially the little pond and the hill. The fire pit and hot tub area was very popular; great for after hikes and after dinner hang out. I really like the front deck in the morning with my coffee. Everything in the house was extremely clean and high end. Also the location was perfect for all activities and very secluded atmosphere love the location of the house.

Summary: I stayed at the Velvet Antler with my family and friends for a weekend in June. The house is gorgeous and accommodates a large group of folks (7 of us slept there very comfortably). It also overlooks a pond and there is a very pretty babbling brook behind the house. It's a 15 minute drive from Woodstock and a couple of fun hiking spots. It is super secluded though which is fine but the internet was down (which also meant no tv). We also felt the hot tub could use a more rigorous cleaning. Other than that we had a great time.

Summary: Rachel's place it absolutely gorgeous with the largest hot tub I've ever seen! There is a beautiful fire place outside for cookouts and gatherings, a beautiful pond right across the cabin which creates an enormously majestic view from the porch. The house is so well designed and you have everything you need. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are incredibly spacious. We were 11 guests staying over for the long weekend and we had a blast. I highly highly recommend it.

Summary: My family and I loved our stay (2 adults, 4 kids) the house was fantastic, heaps of space, great beds and well appointed throughout. We all enjoyed sitting in front of the fire, reading a book or having a nice relaxing time in the hot tub. The owners were every attentive and helped make the stay an enjoyable one.
