Summary: My wife and I had a delightful weekend stay at the Dundee cottage! We arrived late Friday night and it took us a minute to figure out where the cottage was on the property. Once that was sorted, we had a great time exploring the grounds and enjoying the pool. The cottage had all the comforts of home and a well stocked kitchen for cooking meals. The cottage is on the rustic side, but well appointed with cozy rooms and comfortable beds. We were impressed with how clean the interior is! Without a doubt, the cottage is one of the cleanest VRBO properties we have stayed at! Location was convenient to downtown Richmond (30 minute drive), and we appreciated the private and peaceful environment around the cottage. It felt like our own retreat from the world without having to drive to the middle of nowhere! Looking forward to a return visit next summer!

Summary: We enjoyed a classic countryside escape here! We stayed Friday night - Sunday morning and just spent time around the property mostly between the cottage and the pool. It’s a bit remote but there was a Food Lion in a shopping center about 15 minutes away. It is rural but not isolated and we felt very safe and comfortable. The pool area has plenty of sitting space and a majestic view of rolling hills in the distance (winery vibes!). We had the entire property to ourselves and the nature space was beautiful with lots of grass space, super tall trees and the grounds were well maintained. The cottage had everything you need and nothing that you don’t. Renovated kitchen with user friendly appliances. I am not tech savvy so I was grateful that everything was easy to figure out. There is a glamorous soaking tub in the bathroom too! The standing shower was tight but manageable. We loved it so much and hope to back again soon!

Summary: It is privilege to be allowed to stay, alone in my case, in this guest house on an historic property. It is immaculate, perfectly presented and maintained. It was worth a detour and would be worth twice the money. Delightful.

Summary: This property was fantastic for getting out of the city and to a place where we had space to be outside without worrying about social distancing. The pool was a fantastic amenity, as was the grill. Just an FYI - there is little to no shade in the pool for most of the day, but they have umbrellas for the chaise loungers and outdoor table. Our daughter loved visiting the chickens and the dogs, and there is a walking path to explore the property. The house was in good condition, although it could use some updated kitchen tools as well as more pots and pans. The refrigerator should probably be replaced since there was a leak. Normally, that wouldn't matter as much, but more important in COVID times if you want to be as self-contained as possible. If you aren't into cooking, the Hanover Tavern is 4 minutes away. We ordered takeout for a meal and enjoyed it. As a previous reviewer mentioned, there was no hand soap, but we knew that from the review and brought our own. Although not pictured, there is a small shower behind the tub. There were lots of books and dolls/toys for kids, and there is a TV with an Amazon fire stick downstairs. In order to get to the second level with 2 of the bedrooms, the stairs are somewhat steep (more like attic stairs than normal stairs). It was ok for us, but wanted to mention for future renters. All in all, it was a great escape for us and so glad we went!
