Two-story, three-bedroom, two bath German home built in 1843 on the Guadalupe River! Amazing views of the Texas Hill Country. Private river access with canoe 1/2 a mile from the house via the ranch. With just a hayfield in between, it is a 10-minute walk or 1-minute drive down the private road to the river bottom.
Fully updated and renovated kitchen. Not imaged: updated kitchen, updated common room, updated living room, updated dining room, furnishings changes.
Enjoy hiking, swimming, fishing, star gazing, small-town shopping & wine tasting.
This place is historic, and has a lot to enjoy. Peace and quiet, incredible views, and real Texas Hill Country experiences. The river spot is world class, and not your everyday Guadalupe experience. You can tube or kayak down from our property to James Kiehl Park only a couple miles down the road, or get adventurous and kayak all the way to Waring!

Summary: The river was perfect for the hot summer days. Casual, comfortable and fully stocked kitchen for meal prep. We have rented before and it will not be our last!

Summary: Cool, historic house. Rooms were very comfortable. Bathtubs were a little run down/showed a lot of wear and tear. Neat location, close to the river. A little disappointed that a lot of the furnishings that were pictured were not actually in the home (a crib, nice patio furniture).

Summary: This is a great property, very homey! Fun for us and our pets, only wish it wasn’t as close to the highway and that the AC/heater work better, but after all that wasn’t a deal breaker, highly recommend

Summary: This is our second time to come to this beautiful place and definitely not the last! We enjoyed the house and property so much. The old charm of the house and the private river access make this a perfect vacation spot. We were even visited by a sweet kitty everyday. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!

Summary: I'd like to start by saying overall we did enjoy our stay but there are many things that need to be addressed. *The listing says A/C. However when we arrived the house was at least 80°. In this Texas heat wave we've been experiencing that was far from comfortable. The master has a split wall unit set at 64° and it never got near there so be prepared to be warm both day and night. Upstairs the bedrooms cooled off a lot better. Both of those bedrooms had window units. *The house itself is super cute inside but honestly ALL rooms could use curtains or blinds, not only for privacy but to keep the house cooler. *The fridge wasn't cleaned properly and when we arrived to put up groceries it reeked of some form of spoiled seafood. That smell NEVER went away the entire time we stayed and made the kitchen smell too. *The river access on the property is gorgeous whether the river is high or low. I would say a walk would be difficult if you plan to bring items with you. *However the drive is super bumpy and there's a steep drop off at the end so a truck/SUV is best. *The location is great for seeing wildlife. We saw bats flying at sunset and deer galore. *There's a cat who lives there and I love cats but he cried constantly at the door. *Be prepared to drive to see or do anything. I'd like to give a helpful tip as someone who travels often. A notebook or folder with listings of local restaraunts, things to do or other recommendations would be extremely helpful.

Summary: The house is unique and the property is beautiful, especially down by the river! But as hot as that house was at night, it made sleeping almost unbearable. Certainly uncomfortable. Children ended up moving into adult rooms so we could confine air conditioning into the two areas that somewhat worked which made sleeping arrangements hard. We also ended up buying fans before the second night in Boerne to help alleviate the heat. They helped and were best used at night to push cooler outside air into the hot house but didn’t fix the issue. And when we reached out, a response wasn’t received until a week later. After our trip ended. We even saw a property co-owner, who walked through the house agreeing it was warm. We showed him some of the concerns with the maintenance on the units (completely dirty filters, plugged radiator ribs) and that didn’t earn us a response. Customer service was disappointing, non-existent, and isn’t where our families prefer to spend money. While I can’t say we’ll never be back, I do think our money will go elsewhere on future trips to this area. The posted pictures were amazing and some areas lived up in person, the HVAC and customer service issues just can’t be overlooked as it allowed the house to fall below expectations. We don’t think our concerns were taken seriously and that’s unfortunate because there is potential here. But not at this price point, not with this HVAC system, and not for our families. I'd confirm HVAC updates had been made before booking.

Summary: This was a pretty and rustic country home that we stayed at for a wedding. Beautiful views and close to the river where we caught a few fish! There was also an AWESOME country cat that hung out with us on the deck. Absolutely beautiful!

Summary: This was a repeat visit for our family of four. This home is at the top of our list of places to escape the city and spend some time in nature. There’s always a breeze making it pleasant outdoors, even in record-breaking heat! The property has easy access to the river and it’s a pretty secluded spot where you can just unwind and listen to the birds call. As usual, the owners were easy to work with and the home was clean and ready for our stay. There are always a few thoughtful updates and this time we were delighted with the new beds and fresh linens. We plan to be back soon!
