Situated below Snowbird and Alta in the beautiful Wasatch National Forest in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
This secluded and serene cabin has Little Cottonwood Creek in its backyard with granite cliffs, rocky crags, pristine forest and even valley views from the three decks, five skylights and many windows.
Just a few minutes from world class Snowbird and Alta ski resorts you never get stuck in hours of traffic at the mouth of the canyon because you are already in the canyon-yet grocery stores, nightlife and restaurants are only ten minutes down Little Cottonwood road. (On snowy days, take advantage of owners resident pass which grants you access in and out of closed canyon).
This one of a kind three story hundred year old pioneer cabin has more than doubled in size with a 1000 square foot addition. The original section has been beautifully restored and the rest of the home totally renovated throughout.
No detail has been overlooked and every amenity has been thoughtfully provided for your care-free stay.
Cabin still has original outside stone cooking stove but now features totally decked out gourmet twenty foot long indoor kitchen with fireplace and gathering area! The all granite counters, stainless steel appliances and a built-in eight foot granite eating island give real meaning to the joy of cooking!
After a great day on the slopes or playing outdoors relax in the two person jacuzzi or the soaking tub upstairs. Then enjoy dinner and a crackling fire. Finally, take in a movie before bed (over fifty new title dvd's to choose from) in the spacious living room (seriously, the couch is 17 feet long) with the 60 inch TV and surround sound theater system.
Wood floors and wood ceilings abound in this gorgeous cabin and the bedrooms are huge and meticulously decorated. One of the bedrooms upstairs even has a built in 'mini cabin' for the kids to play in while adults enjoy free time!

Summary: Everything was great, and the small hiccups (e.g. the BBQ ran out of propane) were rapidly dealt with by the owner. The home is beautifully decorated and maintained, and the kitchen is extraordinarily well-equipped. Note that in the winter you may need 4WD to reach the property.

Summary: This is a beautiful property, inside and out. I visited with my wife and three sons (ages 21-32). My wife does not ski, but she was thrilled to get rid of us boys so she could enjoy the cabin, and the stunning woods and hills surrounding it. We happened to visit during one of the snowiest periods in Utah's history (at least as of the second week in January); in fact, Snowbird, just three miles away, was closed. Not just the road to it, but the entire mountain. No skiing, and no leaving the facilities there due to avalanche danger. But since we were three miles down the mountain, we were free to leave and drive to Park City for the day, and by the next day, the Bird was open, with feet of powder. Meanwhile, my wife borrowed the owners' snowshoes, as they invited us to do, and hiked for two hours through the woods. So long as you have 4WD or AWD, and pay for reserved parking at the mountain, this place is perfect for a romantic getaway, a family reunion, or a gathering with up to 10 friends.

Summary: The property is a very cozy three-story cabin with all the amenities. We had a great time! It is secluded yet has other cabins around, and has decks overlooking the river, which is visible from the decks. Hiking begins at the doorstep! What a peaceful place that we will certainly rent again!

Summary: Our family of 6 had the best stay at this property. The home was clean, cozy and had absolutely everything we needed and more - including beach towels and toiletries. The owner was extremely welcoming and responsive. We took advantage of the many hiking trails right outside the home. We hope to be back!

Summary: Close to SLC yet quite secluded up our favorite canyon in the area. Tucked along the Little Cottonwood Creek, which in June was a roaring river and provided a great background soundtrack to time spent on the main level deck. Lots of outside access space; a spacious front patio and balconies really expanded the experience. Modern kitchen has all you need to cook meals with plenty of servicewear and utensils. Access to the multiuse canyon trail is a block away and you can either go up or down the canyon. Amazing views and a great workout. Looking forward to our next visit.
