2 Bedroom Cabin in Eagle Rock
This totally renovated cabin is right on the banks of beautiful Craig's Creek, which feeds to the James River. Sitting on 3 acres of its own, the Hideaway backs up to the 4,600+ acre Grace Furnace Tract of National Forest. There are no neighbors in sight from the property and the traffic is sparse (hence the name!)
Sit on the screened porch or take your drinks to the water's edge and relax in the shade of several mature trees with a small fire pit. There's lots of great places to hang a hammock! The water is deep enough (most days) to float for miles, and there's a boat launch about 10 minutes up the road if you want to float back to the house. You can fish right from the yard and catch small-mouth bass, rock bass, and lots more!
We love dogs and gladly welcome them to stay with you (pet fee applies). Please ensure your dog is on flea-preventative and vaccinated to protect them as well as other guests' furry friends! You will need to bring their own bed, but blankets will be provided for them to rest on the couch or bed.
Hoop Hole trail and Roaring Run are 10-15 minutes away, among other hiking trails. Wilderness Adventure is a beautiful 21-minute drive away.
The house will have a well-stocked kitchen (full-size fridge, stove, dishwasher, plenty of quality pots, pans, baking sheets, and utensils, and basic staples like oil, spices, etc.). There is also a propane grill available. The living room and each bedroom has a split unit Air Conditioner, which provides heating, cooling, and a fan/circulate option. This allows each room to be conditioned exactly as you like!
There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with one king-sized bed. Windows from the bedrooms look out onto the creek and you can hear the relaxing sound of the water from inside! All linens are provided, and there are 2 firm pillows and 2 soft pillows on each bed.
The bathoom has a standing shower (no tub). We provide travel-sized body wash, bar soap, shampoo, and conditioner for each party. Towels, including bath towel, hand towels, and bath rags are provided for each guest.
The house has WiFi for surfing the web or watching Netflix. At this time we are not offering a television, but feel free to use WiFi to stream to your personal devices. There are many other beautiful vacation homes on Craig's Creek that offer TV, but our cabin is a place to unwind and disconnect from screens and the outside world! We will have indoor and outdoor games for couples, adult groups, and families, and will continue to add to the collection as time goes on!
Fishing poles and basic tackle are available for your use. There is a fire pit, and we will provide lighter sticks, but please bring your own wood or feel free to collect any loose firewood on the property! There's lots of woods behind and beside the house!
Please note there is no cell service at this property, but WiFi will allow you to text and make quick calls (though quality is not excellent)
