Positive: The reception staff were very warm, welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and well appointed. The bathroom was very large and functional. The bed was very comfortable and we were able to use our streaming service on the tv.

Negative: I was surprised that there was no charge back facility for the Flinders Hotel where we ate. We were told by staff it had been withdrawn a few months prior. The share plate food in the bistro was delicious (king fish ceviche, hot padron peppers, fried chicken, charred bread and romesco dip) but the service was very poor. After being seated at our booked table we waited 25 minutes and our order had not been taken. People who came in 15 minutes after us had their order taken. Wait staff did not make eye contact, cleared tables, wiped tables, stood at the front desk sipping drink, all three went out to the kitchen together. When I went to the front desk to ask if we could order the staff member was on an ipad and said "Be with you soon mate". After a minute or so of standing there awkwardly I returned to our table. My partner glared at the staff member and he came across and took our order. So after half an hour our order was taken after the explanation that they were very busy which did not appear to be the case. Later we received an apology from the staff member and a small recompense. On our second night we ate in the sports bar with the same menu as the bistro, ordered via QR code and had our meal served within 15 minutes. Moral of the story "eat in the sports bar".
