Positive: Everything! The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed during our stay! Michelle on Reception was friendly and helpful as were the ladies who came to check the hot tub on a daily basis!! The apartment is perfectly situated with stunning views overlooking Marsaxlokk bay! We will definitely return!

Positive: Apartment right on the harbour so when you walk out you can see the boats and the sea. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Less than 5 minute walk to the beach. Small convenience store within minutes. Kitchen facilities to make meals. Clean and well stocked with lovely welcome gifts such as bread, tea, coffee, cheese and ham. Cleaners come in halfway through the stay to clean and restock towels, shampoo, sheets. Air con throughout the apartment. Parking nearby for free. 15 minute drive to the airport. Washing machine and dryer free to use, I just took a couple of washing pods in my luggage. Maiden also available to hang clothes out. I managed to get all my washing clean and dried before coming home. All round a lovely place to stay.
Negative: Due to location can be very noisy at night but if you're sleeping in the back bedroom it isn't as loud. Doesn't impact the overall stay which was lovely

Positive: Once we found out the keycode for the property, access was very simple. Initially we arrived after the hours on-site reception was available and so had to dig out e-mails to find our access code/ telephone number - made more difficult as my internet was not working on my phone when I landed in Malta. It was provided well in advance, but I had assumed my phone would be accessible and didn't record separately. The accommodation was basic, but very clean - both bed and sofa were very comfortable. We didn't use the outside courtyard area at the rear of the property as the sun did not make it at the time of year we were there (late Jan- early Feb). You also need to be aware that water is non-drinking water from the taps, so everything must be bought in from the local convenience stores - (not good for anti -plastic campaigners as these all go to waste). The location was great with an active fishing port - fully used by all size boats - very colourful and plenty of quayside restaurants, with fish landed same day an extra treat. Great for a few days, maybe a week if you can include the Sunday market, which is very popular. The local Southeast Cafe was a godsend and popular with the locals too. Open very early and until mid-night. Good portion sizes and very fresh produce served with friendly staff. We used it on a daily basis and service was always the same. The walk up and over the hill to St Peters pool takes about 40 minutes and is well worth it, though a little windy on the days we visited. Bolt taxi service is very efficient. We used three times and didn't have to wait more than 3 minutes on any occasion. The Information Centre is diagonally opposite the Quayside Apartments and very helpful. The buses into Valetta are every 30 mins, and very cheap, if you want a day trip to the main center and will take around 45 minutes, through some very narrow streets, most of which seem to have at least one set of roadworks in operation.
Negative: The sitting/ living area was very dark when the door was closed. If we left the door open, there was a constant stream of tourists wanting to have their pictures taken against the door as this little row of terrace houses seems to be the place to have your picture taken. The rear courtyard was in shadow most of the time, which I can imagine is very welcome when it is very hot, but in early Jan/ Feb, was a little too cold to sit out and read/ eat. Shops are basic convenience stores, so don't expect to buy anything retail that isn't otherwise available at a tourist market - i.e. shoes, clothes, stamps, electrical items. There is a lot of building work going on - roads, houses - everywhere- though clearly needed as huge areas appear run down or derelict.
Summary: Nice start to a long-term break. Beautiful port area and location was great.
