Reviewer Type: Couple
Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Big room, friendly staff, comfortable bed, loved the beautiful tiles in the bathroom.
Negative: Breakfast only served from 8.30am! We stayed midweek to attend an event at Askham Hall and needed an early start to drive back to work, at the price of this room it was very surprising that they weren’t able to provide even a cold breakfast at an earlier time.
Summary: Comfy room, shame about the breakfast!

Positive: Lovely little pub in a beautiful village 10 minutes from the M6 and great access to the Northern Lakes. Food and beer were excellent and the staff and locals very friendly. They allowed me to check in early at 1pm as I was on a trip to scatter my late sister’s ashes next to my parents at Lake Watendlath.
Negative: The bathroom and shower were quite bijou and compact but beautifully appointed. Our bathroom would not have been the best for anyone with mobility issues. But we were very happy with it.
Summary: Beautiful location and village and just off the M6.
