3 Bedroom Cabin in Wautoma

Immerse yourself in nature at this comfortable and stylish cabin in the woods. Situated on 3.5 acres of oaks and red pines on the shores of Deer Lake, this is the perfect retreat for friends, couples, or young families looking to escape. Only a handful of homes are tucked into the trees around this no-wake lake, and you can enjoy the peaceful environment without the noise and bustle that often comes with a bigger lake.
Pretty much everything is negotiable, so if you have a question about the listing or rules, please ask.
While you can enjoy the privacy our cabin that is hidden away at the end of a long driveway, town is only 5 minutes away, with multiple supper clubs, grocery stores, and other conveniences.
There is great summer recreation a short drive away for golf, boating, hiking, paddling and many other activities. We have over 300 feet of frontage on Deer Lake, which is 15 acres and perfect for canoeing and paddleboarding. Enjoy the unpolluted night sky from the dock and gather around the firepit out in the woods away from the house which is stocked with seasoned firewood. Or roast s'mores at the simple turnkey gas firepit that sits on the deck by the house.
Situated in the center of world class golf, Sand Valley is less than an hour away and Lawsonia is under 30 minutes in the other direction. Two-Oaks North is a family friendly local option (500 yards away) with a vibrant social scene (and a simulator in the wintertime). Kohler and Erin Hills are both under 2hrs driving.
In the wintertime, you can relax by our large gas fireplace and enjoy skiing and sledding at nearby Nordic Mountain (15 minutes). For a more substantial mountain, Granite peak is about 90 minutes away. Snowshoeing, Cross Country, and snowmobiling are also popular when the conditions allow.
Disclosure: we have one camera for security purposes located on the exterior SW corner of the house, facing the driveway. There are no interior cameras or other surveillance throughout the property.

Summary: Everything was great - the location was peaceful, the house tastefully decorated and thorough communication. We really appreciated the kitchen, gas fireplace and the cozy, comfortable beds. Too many positive things to mention. One of our favorite places we've rented. Thank you!

Summary: My family and I stayed for a long weekend at the beginning of November. It was just the break we needed! This home has everything you could want for a quiet and relaxing stay. The open kitchen and living area was perfect for us to watch movies, play games, do puzzles and make our favorite home cooked meals. The owners were excellent hosts, responding quickly to our inquiries. The care they took with the homes design and furnishings is evident. Overall, a lovely stay. Would recommend, as well as return.

Summary: My wife and 18 month old daughter had an incredible stay. The property is beautiful, with old pine trees and three great spaces to sit outside (screened in porch, gas fire pit on the front porch, and another pit at the edge of the woods for bonfires). A short and scenic walk down to the lake, which is very peaceful and secluded. We swam and used the canoe. The cabin itself is awesome—large windows throughout let in great light and bring the forestall and scenic surrounds into view at all times. Beds and furniture all comfy and thoughtfully laid out. WiFi and TV worked perfectly. We also spoke to the owner and were approved to bring our dog — he’s a mid sized hypoallergenic bernedoodle. It was great that they were willing to accommodate this request even though it’s not technically dog friendly. All in all an excellent stay.

Summary: What a lovely property! We enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay, and everything exceeded our exceptions. This home is modern and clean in a serene setting. We enjoyed morning walks down to the lake, spending quiet evenings on the screened-in porch, and cooking dinner in the beautiful and well equipped kitchen. The location is a great balance of privacy with the convenience of grocery and other needs close by in town. Also made a trip over to Lawsonia for a round of golf on the Links course, which I'd highly recommend! Communication with the owners was helpful and prompt. I'd highly recommend this property and hope to return for another visit in the future!

Summary: We had an incredible stay at this cabin. The decor is impeccable, blending modern luxury with the charm of a secluded woodland retreat. The long, private driveway enhances the sense of seclusion, creating a peaceful oasis that's perfect for a relaxing getaway. During our stay, we explored the surrounding area, discovering a scenic hiking trail on Mt. Morris, enjoying the vibrant local bars in downtown, and playing a round of golf at the nearby course. However, the cabin itself was the real highlight. It provided everything we could have wanted for a serene escape by the lake. Honestly, we would have been just as happy staying in, as the property offers all the amenities and comfort you could hope for in a lakeside retreat.
