We have a small vegan farm with organic vegetable gardens, fruit trees, two farm ponds and woods with trails in Brooksville, Maine on the Blue Hill peninsula. Good location to use as a base for taking day trips. One hour drive to Acadia.
We offer a quiet and cozy, one level self- contained apartment. The bedroom has a queen bed and a view out into the woods. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and private deck. Some guests have liked that the apartment is all on one floor and doesn't involve stairs. High speed internet.
We also have a two bedroom adjoining apt which can be connected for larger parties
There is also the possibility of being able to rent a delightful screened in cabin on the edge of the woods overlooking a pond. This has a queen bed.

We welcome well behaved dogs which don't bark but ask that they be kept on a lead or closely controlled. Please let us know if you intend to bring a dog.

Summary: I really lucked out on this rental ,location very rural and close enough for shopping and touring. Apartment was excellent on all counts and owners were more than welcoming and generous with their time . I will return.

Summary: It is always a bit of a mystery when you reserve a place online and I have often relied on past reviews to help me decide. When I walked into a place stocked with some of the same books found on shelves at home and framed handwritten poetry I felt instantly at home. I found Bob and Doris' place to be simply delightful; quiet, spotlessly clean, stocked with every kind of kitchen implement you could ever need, AND the cabin was surrounded by incredible flowers and gardens, a true paradise. I REALLY appreciate that they allow pets, especially those over 30 pounds. Although when my Newfoundland Kate bounded out of the car with pent up energy I think both Bob and Doris had second thoughts. (I made sure Kate was away all day hiking, swimming, and exploring so by the time we returned she was totally exhausted.) Both Bob and Doris could not have been more helpful, even giving me delicious fresh peaches from their trees. Their recommendation to check out the food coop in Blue Hill was right on. Brooksville is the perfect location to use as a home base for exploring...we went to Brooklin, Stonington, Cape Rosier, Castine, and even crazy Ellsworth. Each evening we returned to our comfortable cabin and wonderful couch (!) to read and reflect upon the day's adventures. I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful hidden gem to any traveler. We hope to stay again.

Summary: This great little cottage was perfect for a solo traveler like me- great kitchen and bath area, nice bedroom and thoughtful amenities. It had everything I needed and nothing I didn't. The cottage is on a small vegetable farm on the Blue Hill Peninsula, a peaceful location before you get to the hustle and bustle of Acadia. The best part was the wonderful hosts Bob and Doris. They were kind, interesting and helpful. This cottage was perfect for me and it'll be perfect for any solo traveler or couple heading to this untouched area in rural Maine.

Summary: Bob & Doris were warm and thoughtful hosts, giving us helpful tips on local excursions for hikers and bikers and indulging our curiosity about their farm. We enjoyed the quiet, relaxing space after a day's activities - particularly the lovely "tree house", a screened in piece of heaven tucked into the woods overlooking a pond.

Summary: This is a lovely property with a pond, nice out buildings for use of the guests, many lovely places to sit out and enjoy nature. It is also nearby some great places to put in for kayaking. . .On our paddle we saw Harbor Seals, Loon's and a couple of Bald eagles setting out from the Brooksville town put in. We stayed in the smaller one bedroom unit which has a nice and well equipped kitchen for cooking and a small bedroom with a Queen Bed which is on the firmer side but quite comfortable. The one draw back to the smaller unit is the lack of a true sitting area, The larger unit does have that if that is important, but we made use of the outside patio for eating as well and use of the fire pit where we shared a nice evening with Bob and Doris as well as some of the other guests. We were also offered the use of an out building fully screened in with two twin beds as an alternative to the bedroom in our unit. It is a picturesque 10 to 15 minute drive to Blue Hill. All in all a very nice place to stay.
