Summary: We stayed here for a couple of nights and even though we had a bit of bad luck with the weather, the stay itself was super nice. Laurie was an awesome host who made us feel very welcome and took great care of our arrival. The house itself was very neat and beautiful and everything was there to make our stay enjoyable. If you’re looking for a nice and quiet getaway where your nearest neighbours are over a couple of hundred meters away. This is the place.

Beautiful region of France, plenty of interesting places to visit and excellent restaurants all around. A caring and communicative owner, very nice chap. Summary: This property provides luxurious accommodation in an amazing rural location. The facilities are first class and the attention to detail in the provision of a comprehensive welcome pack and all domestic consumables such as dish washer tablets, kitchen paper etc etc. means that you don't have to worry about provisions before you arrive. Although the property provides an oasis of calm and you might be tempted just to chill out 'at home', the area has such a wealth of interesting villages, castles etc that the guest will find that it is ideally situated for exploring the surrounding wine country and much more. We are so glad that we got to spend two wonderful weeks here and we will definitely return.

Summary: This place is ideal for couples looking for a relaxed private getaway. Set amongst acres of vines, all you will hear are the birds, the bees in the lavender and the hum of the occasional tractor as local farmers work the vines. The garden is delightful and during our mid-summer stay the pool was fabulous. The greeting from the owner was very warm and the "welcome pack" of beers, wine, cheeses, bread, pate and other assorted goodies was extremely generous. A car is necessary but not far from the house great restaurants, beautiful towns, markets and wonderful country-side abound. But if you want to just "do nothing", this is the place to do it.

Summary: We spent two wonderful weeks in this very private and peaceful gite. Everything is laid out perfectly for your convenience. Step out from the luxury of the house itself on to the ample and shaded terrace, and just a few steps more take you into the pool. This was really appreciated during the great weather when we were greeted with blue skies and high temperatures almost every day. The location is ideal for walking and mountain biking from the gite and there is plenty of wildlife to enjoy in the surrounding area. Bordeaux and St Emillion are close by and great days out, as are the other Bastides in the area. Laurie's welcome and thoughtfulness made it a perfect stay for us, and we are looking forward to returning. Deb and Malcolm, Wantage, July 2015

Summary: We have never been back to the same place twice . . . . . . . before finding this place that is. This was our third visit to La Vieille Grange and we've already booked for next year too!! It is such a lovely property in such a fabulous tranquil location we just love it. Ideal for couples who just want peace and privacy. If you do want to have busier days then we recommend the Saturday market at Saint Foy La Grande (one of France's best!) and the market at Sauveterre de Guyenne on Tuesdays is also excellent. Once again Laurie proved to be an excellent host providing a very generous welcome pack and always available if required. Thanks Laurie!!

Summary: From the moment we arrived we knew we were going to have a fabulous holiday. This property is situated in a beautiful part of France surrounded by vineyards. The house is tranquil and private. The interior is finished to a high standard and is fully equipped for holidaymakers whilst also maintaining charm and personal touch. Summary: This property is even more beautiful than the photos in reality. A very tranquil spot, totally relaxing with a lovely homely feel. Furnished to an exceptionally high standard and well equipped, with an extremely comfortable bed in the most beautiful bedroom ever. We shopped on the way in not quite believing that the welcome pack would tide us over the Saturday night and Sunday morning but we were wrong - it was very generous and we could have just arrived and settled in! The area is lovely although we did not travel too far. Good for cycling locally and for the wine tour around St Emillion. Laurie was very thorough in his arrangements and preparing the property, lots of little touches that make a difference especially not having to obtain household items, all you need is there. Scampi the lovely cat was an added bonus for us, we could have just moved in forever.......... Sometimes a property has that certain something, a good feel about it, we have only truly experienced this twice in many years of renting in France and Spain and this was one of them. We plan to return next year.

Summary: We were anticipating our week in region, and were very impressed by the description and photos of the property - the seclusion, the pool, the property, the accommodation. Yet, the reality even exceeded our expectations. Laurie is a wonderful host - and the welcome package is thoughtful and very much appreciated. The morning visit by the dame d'épicerie ensured we were always stocked up on croissants, bageuttes, fruit and vegetables. And although we had traveled to Bordeaux to tour the villages and vineyards, it was often difficult to convince ourselves to leave the relaxed comfort of La Vieille Grange. We will be back.
