The Shack is located on 1.1ha, (2.7 acres) of land for peace and tranquility. We are 7 minutes from Mangonui Village, 7 minutes from Hihi Beach and 7 minutes from the Whangaroa Golf course. Parking for all vehicles. The Shack has free Wi-Fi, Full HD 55 inch TV, Tea, Coffee, Hot chocolate etc. All bedding and towels provided. A sparkling salt water swimming pool will refresh you after a day of fun. A separate bedroom with a deluxe queen size bed. Three seater couch, dining area, table and 2 x chairs.

Summary: We had the most wonderful few days here in the Shack. It was so clean and homely when we walked in. The grounds are immaculate with 3 sheep (the girls), chickens and a beautiful cat. We had a fully equipped kitchen!! The bed was super comfortable and our time here was very relaxing!! I can't wait to return with my partner in December! Thank you so much Garth and Vicky!!

Summary: This property has a friendly interesting host. Is comfortable and is centrally located to many of the mid far north’s tourist attractions. We ranged between Whangaroa and Waipapakauri. Visited Pah sites, NZ best beaches and even climbed St Paul’s Rock. That topped the excitement scale. For the first time we saw the whole of Whangaroa Harbour in one hit. The property hosts a very very comfortable bed, cosy living and the use of a sparkling clean infinity pool. Made new friends with the chooks and 2 lovely black cats. A place to return to. Thank you to our hosts Garth and Mrs Garth.

Summary: Great place to base yourself when exploring the Far North. Would highly recommend The Shack, which is situated in a lovely rural setting with a wonderful friendly host. Located just 6 minutes from Mangonui, for your local fish and chips, and only a 30 minute drive to the amazing white sandy beaches on the Karikari Peninsula. A visit to Cape Reinga is a must as well as riding the giant Te Paki Sand Dunes and driving along Ninety Mile Beach. There's just so much to see and do up North...

We explored the fantastic beaches the Far North is famous for and always enjoyed coming back to The Shack to relax and watch the sun go down across the hills. What a beautiful spot of NZ this is!
