Hilltop cabin is located on Crooked Run Road Shenandoah, Virginia. All roads are paved except for the inclined gravel driveway leading up to the cabin. We recommend all wheeled or four wheel drive vehicles however, some drives have no issue maneuvering the graveled driveway in a front wheeled drive vehicle. Please ask before bringing motorcycles. The owner is not responsible for road conditions due too inclimate weather.

Summary: The Good:Good mattress on king bed, secluded getaway as promised, generous with supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels, etc.). We wanted to be alone and no one bothered us during our stay (much appreciated).The Bad:Furniture seemed like it was selected by your grandparents if your granddad was over 6' and your grandmother was barely 5'. Eclectic mix of tall and short furniture, including the shortest toilets we've used in decades. Some electronic device also chirped every minute for hours at a time, then would be quiet for several hours and start again. Believe the owners when they recommend 4WD. It had rained before we arrived and I'm glad we had it. More extensive self-cleaning requirements than most VRBOs.The UglyThe "free" internet was not worth using and struck us as false advertising. Sometimes it was under 1MB a minute, and email was painfully slow. Forget trying to use anything else. Using my cell phone as a hotspot was literally over 100 times faster. As much as the owners charge, they should use a faster service such as T-Mobile or Starlink instead of the horrific local service that reminded us of dial-up speeds.

Summary: This cabin was perfect for a nice cool getaway during our trip to Shenandoah. Close to a very cute main street with local spots. Would recommend just sitting out on the porch and listening to all the birds with your coffee every morning….magical!!
