Negative: Steps everywhere… although I did message to say my husband was in a wheelchair and they said there would be no problem!!

Positive: I think we must have experienced an off day or something. Everybody was super friendly. Breakfast was lovely and the Ukrainian woman who serviced us happy, cheerful and full of life. Room had a kettle and a mini fridge. Ended up having dinner (food and wine we brought) in the large sitting room with a beautiful fire.

Negative: The place looked like a deserted haunted house. We couldn't get the gate buzzer to work so we ended up finding the back way in. No clear main entrance to the place. A helpful gentleman appeared and introduced himself as the owner. Smooth check in process. Our room was cold. The building was cold. Internet was unsecured 50 MBPS down / 40up Bed was very very firm. There was a shared sitting room right next to our room. We sat there because it was much more comfortable than our room. Lovely fireplace but no fire. After sometime another man, who we had never met, appeared. He asked if we wanted a fire. Of course we want a fire! Would have been nice if the fire was in or we were told we could have one.

Summary: "Missed it by that much" Get Smart. This place could be absolutely wonderful

Positive: We received a very warm welcome from the lady who "runs" the house. She is a kind, hospitable and hard working person and she's doing a great job inside the house: clean rooms, good breakfast etc. I forgot my computer mouse and she called me after we had left and promised to send it to me by mail. Which is very thoughtful indeed.

Negative: The exterior of the house is in a poor state. It needs to be painted or at least cleaned thoroughly! The whole premises actually. The swimming pool wasn't open yet, but this doesn't mean that the whole garden should look like a mess. I expected much more & better, compared to the photo's on the website. The lady who runs the house couldn't see us out because she had an appointment elsewhere, so she asked us to use the back entrance (muddy road). While we knew that the owner was at home! He could have opened the gate for us, right?

Summary: In all quite disappointing, sadly.
