Positive: This vineyard B&B gave us exactly the experience we were wanting! Communication before our arrival to set up a tour and port tasting was very good, and we were so happy we did! Andre was our tour guide for hours taking us to the highlights of Douro Valley and even to another Quinta for a tasting (at my request). He was SO pleasant and knowledgeable. Cesar, the owner, gave a very in depth vineyard tour and talk. We loved it. Then, we had our meal WITH the port and house wines. So so good!! Don’t miss it! In summary, this was a very personal and relaxing stay that was more than we could have wanted, including the friendly vineyard dogs.

Positive: Breakfast was great, location and view can't be beat. Romantic, traditional, farmstay with much privacy.
Negative: Keep in mind this is a family run farmstay with only a handful of rooms, so there is a small staff that wear multiple hats. You may need to wait for your check in or tour 10 minutes.

Positive: The people couldn't have been nicer. They were very friendly, informative, and accommodating and made us feel like valued guests. The views were spectacular and we loved tasting the traditional foods provided at breakfast and dinner.
Negative: As a former monastery the accommodations weren't luxurious, but for those like us who like a place with character, it was unique and charming.

Positive: Location, location, location! Overlooking the Douro, close to both Régua and Lamego while out of sight of either, the hotel is both a former monastery and the fifth generation home of the winery-operating family. The tour is great, the orchards and vineyards are for wandering, an excellent dinner with wine and port tasting is also offered.
Negative: Not recommended for people with trouble walking, as climbing stairs is a necessity. This was not a problem for us but others may need to be advised.
Summary: Family-operated winery in former monastery combines hospitality and history.
