Positive: Location at the edge of the small village providense. Spectacular view across the Douro Valley. Nice new bungalows with balconies. Great swimming pool and grounds. Great breakfast.

Negative: The staff are a little unfriendly and very strict and rule oriented. There are about 6 rooms and a little Portuguese hospitality would turn this into a spectacular property. Veranda doors do not lock. Seems to be an issue with all rooms. We only are one evening meal as it was poor value. One glass of wine served and out of a box! Yes!! We are in the Douro Valley and they serve box wine!!

Summary: Great facilities but lacking that warmth and hospitality.

Positive: The location could not be any better. In the middle of the vineyards,the bells of the church are ringing nearby. Just great. The hotel staff very honest and helpful. The room is up to the standards. Food dinner and breakfast was equally great.

Negative: The area is quite remote if arriving from pinhao. Need to preorder a taxi or call the property well in advance to arrange for a taxi. The property itself is perfect otherwise nothing to complain about. A taxi is required if there are plans to visit the area .

Summary: A nice stay away from the city hustle bustle.
