Welcome to Random Scoots Cabin. Located on a private road elevated above the valley, guests will enjoy a charming space to recuperate in after a busy day of playing in the mountains. The cabin is a perfectly situated for a family vacation with a spacious yard, fire pit, covered porch, and a quaint Adirondack style cabin.
Hikers and outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the close proximity to local activities in the High Peaks Region.
Random Scoots has an open concept floor plan with plenty of natural light and windows to bring the Adirondacks right to you!
-The kitchen has a lot of counter space and everything you need to cook your favorite meals.
-The living room has a 55 inch wall mount T.V. with a streaming device for your favorite shows.
-The cabin has a propane heater for the colder months with electric baseboard heat in the bedrooms. During the summer months an AC unit is provided along with fans to stay cool.
Guests are required to have 4WD or AWD vehicles with good tread on tires during the winter months due to 2 steep inclines! No exceptions allowed!
BASE RATE includes 2 guests. Additional guests are $30 per guest per night.

Summary: Great spot! Clean, quiet, well appointed - close enough to access all the high peaks fun, far enough away for peace & quiet. They have really thought of everything you would need - kitchen and counter space for cooking, cute deck with gas grill and flowers - even fresh basil and rosemary! A deep tub - great for soaking after long days on the trails, and a fire pit outside as well. The hosts live close by and are extremely responsive, friendly, and happy to suggest ideas for the area. They have 3 large dogs that they try to keep away but if you’re dog people they’ll let them say hello. Highly recommend!

Summary: This cozy retreat has it all. A kind and helpful property owner. A beautiful site. Close to the best that nature can provide. We skied and enjoyed winter outside and then retreated to the warm and inviting cabin space. The best.

Summary: The Random Scoots cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable long weekend stay. The host was quick to reply to my questions. The road leading to the cabin was well maintained and very quiet. Despite the sub zero temperatures during our stay, we were nice and warm inside. Comfortable beds and a great layout for families made for a memorable trip. We would love to stay here again!

Summary: My family and I had a wonderful time staying at Random Scoots. Shaye was extremely responsive when we had to reschedule our trip twice (very thankful we didn't end up canceling!), and she and Kevin went out of their way to drive us up the hill to the cabin when our car couldn't make it in the fresh snow when we first arrived. The cabin was immaculately clean, it's conveniently located near restaurants and shops in Keene, and it is close to Whiteface, Mt Van Hoevenberg, Lake Placid and plenty of places to hike. The cabin is cozy and spacious, and the kitchen has every utensil you could possibly need to cook and bake. We truly enjoyed our long weekend in the cabin as much as outside in the surrounding area, and we hope to be back soon!

Summary: We decided to go away for Christmas for the first time ever, wanting the holiday to be just with my husband and I and our three kids and dog. We traveled up a steep hill to get to the cabin, which sits nearby to two other homes, but with lots of woods around on beautiful grounds. The cabin itself is open and roomy, but also cozy and very clean. Anything you could need, from plates and pans to crayons and coloring books to extra blankets and dog dishes, was there. Everything there seems well thought out. There was plenty of space for our whole family and we enjoyed our time in the cabin very much. The location is also great. We went for a couple of really nice hikes. We lucked out with weather. There was snow on the ground and everything looked so, so pretty! We have been to that general area lots of times over the years, but we are usually campers, occasionally soending a night or two at a motel in Lake Placid. This was a different sort of trip for us and a really great one, a Christmas we will always remember. None of us wanted to leave at the end of our stay.

Summary: This property is kept in excellent condition. A lot of thought has gone into what is at hand, as if you the renter were a guest or family member. Really good photographs on the walls. Very comfortable and relaxing. The washer and dryer are first rate and a big plus. Only two recommendations: 1) there is a step down from the living room to the area where the main bedrooms are located. It would be helpful if there were a warning about that as you come in for the first time. I didn't see it clearly and nearly took a tumble. 2) there is a problem with lighting the stove burners. The two on the right didn't function well. Neither of these amount to much compared to the location, views, and quality of property and upkeep. Recommended highly.
