Red Gate Cabin is a one-of-a-kind luxury cabin with nearly a half-mile of private boundary with the Shenandoah National Park on 20 wooded acres. The owners spent years searching for the perfect property and found it, as Red Gate Cabin is only 225 feet from the Shenandoah National Park and has no neighbors in sight. Literally a few steps outside the cabin takes you to hiking, biking, and running adventures on a well-maintained fire road which leads into the Shenandoah National Park and directly to the Skyline Drive, Appalachian Trail, and Big Meadows. At Red Gate Cabin you will find modern amenities, multiple outdoor decks, rocking chairs, an electric fireplace, smart TVs, outdoor swings, board games, a firepit, wildlife, views for miles and miles, and so much more! At an elevation of 1,800 feet, the air is cooler in the summer and the views are spectacular year-round.
Red Gate Cabin is located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, just under 2 hours away from Washington DC, 1.5 hours from Charlottesville, VA, and a little over 2 hours from Richmond, VA.
THE SPACE
Red Gate Cabin is a custom cabin adjoining the Shenandoah National Park. The property contains 20 secluded acres, is very private, and is not located within a development or subdivision. There are no houses or neighbors in sight. Constructed using the finest modern building materials and attention to detail, Red Gate Cabin will invite you, your family, and friends to immediately make yourselves at home. Furnished with all the modern conveniences, Red Gate Cabin provides you with a unique and comfortable experience akin to a chic boutique hotel. Complete your yogi routine on one of the many decks, or take in the views and stars from firepit area, completed with Pollywood chairs and a Breeo firepit — the choice is yours! Red Gate Cabin was designed with nature and privacy in mind.

The cabin is best suited for 4 people, as there are 2 bedrooms featuring one king size bed and two full size beds in the lower level. However, the Red Gate Cabin can accommodate up to 6 people. Linens, towels, sleep noise machines, blinds, nightlights, an iron, iron board, and umbrellas are all available for your convenience.
Beyond this, the cabin boasts a dependable, new climate control system, Wi-Fi, two smart TVs with Disney Plus and Netflix. The cabin also has a dedicated workspace, outdoor seating (spread across two levels plus a screened in porch) and a variety of board games/books. For outdoor activities we also have hiking, biking, running, and walking directly into the Shenandoah National Park only 225 feet from the cabin. This access to the Shenandoah National Park from Red Gate Cabin is private, not shared with any other properties, and only available for cabin guests.
Red Gate Cabin boasts a full kitchen complete with cookware, utensils, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, electric stove, microwave, blender, toaster, Ninja Air Fryer Oven Flip Up, a Keurig, regular coffee machine, a French press (can you tell we like our coffee), and electric hot water kettle! You’ll have everything you need to cook a holiday meal, bake a cake, just make coffee and toast, or use the microwave for simple reheating. And of course, wine glasses to sip vino during your afternoon wine and cheese happy hour are provided (you bring the wine and cheese)!
With respect to design, Red Gate Cabin features an open floor plan living room windows offering panoramic views of the Page Valley below and a finished walk-out basement. A full-size washer and dryer are located on the lower level for your convenience.
Please keep in mind that the house is child-friendly, but not childproof.
OUTDOOR LIVING
Large upper wrap around deck with rocking chairs, swing, high top table and chairs, and screened in porch with table and chairs. Below is a covered deck with a sitting area, hammock, and birdcage swing. There is also a charcoal grill, Breeo firepit with Pollywood chairs (we provide starter firewood), and cornhole boards. We provide several binoculars and bird watching books if you want to wake up early to see the forest come alive around you.

TRASH STORAGE
Red Gate Cabin is in the woods and adjoins the Shenandoah National Park and thereby surrounded by a variety of wildlife—perhaps even a bear or two. With this in mind, guests must carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package all food to prevent pest infestations. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY FOOD OR TRASH OUTSIDE.
CELL SERVICE
Red Gate Cabin has great cell service from many of the major national providers.
AIR CONDITIONING/HEATING:
There central a/c and heating in the cabin. There are also additional heaters in each bedroom, and two ceiling fans upstairs. A portable fan and throw blankets are provided.
PROPERTY CAPACITY AND GUEST RESTRICTIONS
Only guests included in the booking record are allowed on the premises, and violations of this rule will result in the immediate eviction of all visitors without a refund. Please include the correct number of guests in the reservation. The number of guests is strictly limited to 6.
PETS
We love our pets, but pets are not currently permitted at Red Gate Cabin or on the surrounding 20 acres. If a pet is found to have been in the property a deep cleaning fee of $500 will be charged plus any damage to the property will be the responsibility of the Guest. Guests will be required to depart immediately with no refunds given. We can recommend a great local pet boarding facility for your furry friends!
PROPERTY QUIET HOURS
Our property quiet hours of 10pm to 6am are dictated by county ordinance. Failure to abide by the county noise ordinance will result in the immediate termination of the stay and removal from the property without a refund.
NO FIREWORKS OR SMOKING
Fireworks are strictly prohibited anywhere in the cabin or on the surrounding 20 acres, and guests who violate this rule will be required to vacate the property without a refund and face subsequent fines. Smoking/vapping/hookah is never allowed inside and anywhere outside the cabin. The cabin is surrounded by woods and we don’t want a forest fire!
ADDITIONAL CLEANING FEES
An additional cleaning fee of $90 will be incurred if additional clean-up is required that rises above the standard cleaning process. We don’t anticipate this will ever be an issue!
DAMAGE PAYMENTS
Any damage to property or furnishings that exceeds the deposit amount will be billed to the guest and reported to the booking platform. ***We do require additional documentation to be reviewed and signed prior to arrival. NO PARTIES OR EVENTS, NO OUTSIDE VISITORS, NO OVERNIGHT GUESTS.
ACCESS ROAD
(Important - please read the following and be sure this property suits your needs!)
The private access road is a combination of a gravel / paved road for the last 0.5 miles and gains elevation quickly. In winter months and snowy conditions, we strongly advise driving a four-wheel-drive or AWD vehicle. Please take this warning seriously, as we do not offer refunds or cancellations due to weather. Drive slowly and we suggest arriving to the cabin before dusk!

WEDDINGS / HONEYMOONS
Red Gate Cabin is less than 4 miles to the Pavilion at Shenandoah Woods and Brenwood Lake Weddings, and is within 15 minutes of many other event venues. We have many couples use Red Gate Cabin as their homebase during their wedding adventure. Newly married couples then enjoy their honeymoon where they can relax on our secluded cabin. In order to help you look your best, we have a full-length mirror, iron, ironing board, spray starch, and lint rollers.
ELOPEMENT / VOW RENEWAL
The owners of Red Gate Cabin are both civil celebrants authorized to conduct marriages. If you are looking for the perfect place to elope or renew your vows reach out to us to discuss details (there is an additional fee for this service). Red Gate Cabin is not an event venue and additional guests are not allowed, just the couple (who must be registered guests for a stay at the cabin), one of the owners as the civil celebrant, and perhaps a photographer (we can recommend a few local photographers if needed).
If you ever need anything during your stay, we are “locals” and live nearby (short 8-minute drive) to solve any issue or offer recommendations. Otherwise, we will send you the door code and leave you to your seclusion and privacy to make yourselves at home in Red Gate Cabin!
