What Our Guests say 500 + Reviews

Dec 12, 2022 01:01:39 PM
Summary: As expected for a cabin in the woods of RRG! If you know, you know. Lovely but needs a deep clean. Relying on guests before you to clean the dishes proved a fail for us. I spent time washing the dishes before we used them because they were not clean. A lot of what we encountered is as previous reviews mentioned but I was expecting this from previous stays in the gorge at other cabins. It’s part of the charm of RRG! I love the porch and view and fire pit and the big open space of the cabin. The one thing that was hard to get past was the cistern water supply. This cabin is definitely one of the more remote and did not have “city water”. The water had a stale odor, brownish color, and was non-potable per the person that checked us in. No worries, we had bottled water to drink and cook with! But, showering was not happening which was not great after 4 days! Using the stove and microwave were an adventure as well. And, there’s no can opener so, bring one or use pop top lids! There is a “spring”, rather mud pit just behind the fire pit that you will have to keep pets and kids away from. As long as you are prepared and have an easy going roll with it attitude, this place is fine. All wheel drive is a bonus!

Summary: The Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge area is amazing! We hiked and kayaked and it was beautiful! Our cabin was very clean. Lacking in dishes and dish soap otherwise was good. The road to the cabin is in desperate need of repair. Four wheel drive is necessary!!

Summary: We had a beautiful time. It's a amazing area. Just make sure you have some ground clearance and at least front wheel drive on your vehicle. The road leading up to the cabin is no joke, but worth it.
