Given that we strive to maintain an allergy free rental, we ask that smokers and those traveling with pets not apply.
Our cottage is just across from the beach with biking and walking trails, bird sanctuary, restaurants, coffee shop, family-friendly activities, nightlife, corner store with liquor sales, neighborhood pub, and spa/resort. Enjoy the opportunity to unwind, relax and engage in seaside activities or venture into nearby towns and villages to enjoy their own unique flavors. Our furnishings are an eclectic mix of family heirlooms and on site memorabilia found during our work restoring our "secret garden" site. Our grounds have been dedicated to organic gardening for the 15 years we have lived here and we offer our guests both fruits (thornless blackberries, raspberries, apples, figs, and peaches ) and vegetables in season on request. We have spent countless hours improving the soil, hosting unique plants, and adding artistic touches to our .7 of an acre. We love where we live and are happy to share our lovely spot with you and let you in on some of our favorite spots to explore and enjoy. We welcome any opportunity to answer your inquiries and offer suggestions as to activities, restaurants, entertainment and the like.
Guests have told us the pictures don’t show the size of the cabin accurately and that it is much more spacious than it appears. We also have another listing- Figgy Cabin #1094943 a one bedroom on VRBO if you want to include more friends or family in your vacation plans. We recently completed an outdoor kitchen that our guests are welcome to use and includes bbqs out back.

Summary: We loved the beautiful surroundings along with the very cute chickens. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Georgia gifted us some delicious organic tomatoes that were very much appreciated. We found this location to be very central to Courtenay, Campbell River, Comox and Cumberland as well as Denman and Hornby Islands.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable and cozy accommodations. Perfect for a couple. Beautiful setting enjoyed all the birds and different plants and flowers. I had never seen a fig tree before! Great barbecue area. The chickens kept us company while we were barbecuing. A very central location. Close to lots of hikes and amenities. Especially enjoyed being able to walk to Roy’s Pub and collect seashells on the beach. Perfect place for a quiet and relaxing vacation.

Summary: A perfect place to experience nature's wonders: its silence and tranquility, walking trails by the ocean, pink sunsets skies, trees, plants and flowers along with chickens and vegetable gardens. The cottage is simply delightful: spacious, clean, practical and charmingly filled with collectables. The hosts are especially welcoming and generous as they go out of their way to make you feel at home.

Summary: We've stayed here almost every summer for 7 years now. We love the location, sunsets, enjoy feeding their chickens, relaxing in the picnic area and kayaking on the beach across the road. Georgia and Ron are friendly caring hosts.

Summary: This is a great property for a getaway. It is close to the water and only a short drive to Courtenay. The hosts, Georgia and Ron, are next door and provide any assistance that may be required. It is our second time staying at the property and we were welcomed back as “friends”. We highly recommend this property for anyone considering coming to the Comox/Courtenay area.
