Summary: don’t stay here. rooms were dated and unclean wallpaper peeling off the walls. spa was mostly redundant jacuzzi broken steam room/sauna not working properly. The chef walked out and the bar closed early there were tables of filthy glasses and old rubbish everywhere. we were overcharged and are still trying to get our refund

Summary: Hotel rooms are a little dated, reception area clean and welcoming. Stayed during the recent heat wave and be warned the rooms (at least the two i stayed in) have no AC and are stupidly warm, was a desk fan in the room that was 15 years old (had a PAT sticker showing year of first test) the fan was loud and very dusty. Small fridge in room which is convenient They have two EV chargers. Just have to download an App (of course!!) The good thing about the hotel and why i stayed and will probably again is the decent gym and pool, without these definitely wouldn't stay again otherwise Can't comment on the restaurant as I never used it but looks ok

Summary: Great if you like hotels in need of a little more care and maintenance. I’ve stayed here dozens of times, and there always seems to be something in the room that doesn’t work: air conditioning, minibar, radiator, shower, hot water, window locks, steam room in the spa etc. etc. Other things are simply sub-par for £150 a night: heating noises, loose sink taps, broken shower heads, kitchen fan noise, kitchen smells, etc. On this visit, the air conditioning was not producing cold air despite the attention of the maintenance man — a bit of a problem in a heatwave. Interestingly, from what staff told me whist I was trying to change rooms, a number of the units do not work, so upgrading your room specifically to get air conditioning does not guarantee that you will have a nice, cool night’s sleep. Yes, I do report these issues every time, and maybe they do their best, but many of the issues simply roll on. Some of my colleagues have already moved on to other hotels in the area because they got fed up with not knowing what would and would not work. I continue to stay because the rooms are spacious, the gym is decent, and Thatcham has good pubs and restaurants within walking distance — but the hotel is making that decision harder than it ought to be.

Summary: Stayed one night, room only. This is a great option if staying in the area. Very pleasant reception area and helpful staff. Our room on first floor was very lcomfortable and large enough for a sofa and sitting area with TV. Spacious bathroom. The only criticism is that the fittings are a bit outdated but worked fine. The pool is nice although the jacuzzi was out of action. We didn’t use it but there is a large fitness area with all the usual equipment. Plenty of free parking out front. Excellent value with Hotels.com.

Summary: Overall the hotel was a bit tired looking and in need of an update. Bathroom was not as clean as would be expected, particularly around the shower screen where black dirt had accumulated. We appeared to have been upgraded to a larger room, which was appreciated. However one of the sofa seats was worn and ripped. The staff were friendly and helpful but there were no receptionists on the desk at check out.
