Casa Valentina is located in a spectacular place. It's great place for families and groups.
- This home away from home is spacey, with plenty of sharing spaces, gardens, kitchen, dinning area, fire place, hot tub and large bedrooms.
- Located close to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and other attractions as well as restaurants and good views.
- We are connoisseurs of the area and can help you out with ideas and suggestions of what to do and where to go.
Casa Valentina is located in a great place to appreciate nature.
The space:
- This home away from home is spacey. It has a little bit of everything!
- The kitchen is fully equipped with two stoves, fridge, utensils, etc.
- Fireplace is very cozy.
- And yes, we have Wifi!
The rooms:
The house has four rooms. One of them is a mezannine. Two of them have private entrances (one of these has to be accessed from the outside of the house).
All the rooms are very spacy and each have their own qualities. For example they having living area spaces, one has a hot tub, mini-fridges, private balcony, etc.
On the first floor we have a full, large, fully equipped kitchen, large dinning table and a living area with a gas fireplace.
Also on the first floor we have a wheel chair accessible room with full bathroom, two queen sized beds and one single bed. This room has a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, safe as well as a dinning space and living area.
On the second floor we have two rooms. One has a queen sized bed, private balcony, living area, hot tub (jacuzzi), as well as a mini-fridge, micro-wave oven and coffee maker. The other room has a large living room, a queen sized bed, and a single bed.
Third floor, the third floor is a mezannine style room with one dobble bed, even though it's one of the smallest rooms, it has one of the best views of the mountains and the stars! - Note: the access is a pull down ladder.
Outside we have plenty of parking space and gardens.
The community:
This community has grown based on the concept of sustainable tourism and there are very many attractions catered for all sorts of tastes, come visit us and get to see some of the wonders of the Cloud Forest (which represent only 2% of the forests of the world, but contain a huge amount of its biodiversity).
In the area you can do from hikes, adventure tourism (ziplinning, etc.), coffee tours, horse back riding, etc.
Getting around:
- We offer free parking for our guests.
Cabs are readily available in the Monteverde area and we are close to the public bus stop, however there aren't many buses a day. It's very safe to walk. There are several restaurants in the area as well as a convenience store (3-5min drive, 10-15min walk). Most tours in the area offer free pick-up. walk).

Summary: The house was cozy, but it needs brighter lights it was a bit dim throughout the house. Need to fix stove/burners and refrigerator not getting very cold. Besides that the rest of the house was comfortable.

Summary: Our first trip to Costa Rica and Casa Valentina was a GREAT choice for us in Monteverde! Our group of 9 had plenty of room and we weren’t lacking any amenities! The location and views were amazing! The host was very attentive to our needs and made sure we arrived safely. She offered many suggestions, such as tours and food, for us to enjoy our stay. My only regret is that we probably should have stayed longer, but I’ll keep that in mind for our next stay at Casa Valentina!!’

Summary: This is a unique property! We enjoyed it, but we were not prepared for so much wind and rain. It would be good if the owners provided hooks or more hangers or a hall tree to hang wet raincoats on. We rented the whole place. My adult daughters had the separate suite where you have to walk outside. The ceiling leaked due to heavy rain, but property managers came the next day to adddress it. We lost power twice, once for about 2 hours and the other time we did not have it when we returned at the end of the day and it came on in about 45 minutes. We had candles. That they provide, you can still cook on the gas stove, still light the fireplace and still use the water without electricity. Just be mentally/ emotionally prepared. We ended up playing games in front of the fire and it was great. We were there in January and we used the gas fire every night, so cozy! The main room could use more light in the evening, 2 or more floor lamps would do it. I polled the 6 of us and we collectively decided to give it 5 stars despite the leaks :) Also it is 1 km to Monteverde and also close to Curi Cancha preserve and children’s eternal rain forest so a good location overall.

Summary: The house was adequate for us but did have some issues. The floors were recently highly waxed which made them very slippery. We wiped as much of the excess wax off the floor with towels but it was still very slippery. Also, neither of the 2 stoves worked in the kitchen. All the water faucets leaked. The layout of the house is very strange and the photos are misleading of the number and placement of rooms. The large room with 4 beds can’t be accessed from the main house. The entrance is outside. The bed in the upstairs above the kitchen was very hard and uncomfortable. The attic room is accessible via an attic ladder that blocks the door to the bathroom when down. There are some great things about the property. The location is great if you’re wanting to spend a lot of time in the cloud forest. There was a little garden with a small water feature that tadpoles, froglets and frogs were living. It was a highlight to our stay! Also, we had the opportunity to watch 2 kinkajou in the tree tops our last night. In summary, the house served its purpose, but I wouldn’t stay there again most likely.

Summary: Beautifully decorated and unique house with an amazing outdoor space and view. Very easy to find and get inside. The hostess was always accessible via email and checked on us to make sure that we were happy. The rooms set up is suitable for a family or group who don't require privacy. There is one room with a queen bed and one room with sleeping for 5, accessed from outside the house. The upstairs and loft room are all open to each other. It was perfect for our family of 10. The loft stairs are for adventurous types. If you would climb a bunk bed, you would be fine in the loft. Likely one of the best houses in Monteverde despite some quirks.

Summary: Casa Valentina was perfect for our stay in Monteverde. We rented the entire house and didn’t even need the extra butterfly unit. There was plenty of room for our children and my in-laws. The fourth bedroom is a loft and not exactly private but my daughter LOVED it. The property is quiet and we spent afternoons after hiking watching toucans, coatis, agoutis, and various other birds right from the picnic table outside ( not to mention all of the beautiful hummingbirds!). The home does NOT have televisions, but that wasn’t really a negative! It forced my family to spend quality time together and really get out and enjoy nature! We would absolutely stay again, and look forward to it. The host responds quickly and the home is left clean!

Summary: Good place and very spacious, but note that the 4th bedroom isn't private at all and has very steep, drop down stairs that are difficult to climb. Other pictures are a little misleading. The fireplace is now gas and offered no heat for the house and the balcony is narrow and only comes with 2 chairs to sit outside. Other than that we enjoyed the location and view. It's located in a very quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. The proximity to town and activities was great. One day we even had monkeys in the trees right outside the house. My family enjoyed the time there.
