Relaxation and fun for the whole family!A little out of the way and yet not far away! We rent in Alt St. on the sunny southern slope with a wonderful view Johann a beautiful, renovated 3-room apartment for 4 people in a 2-family house. The house is in a quiet, sunny location at the western entrance to the village. 800m from the village center and within walking distance you will find shops, restaurants, the valley station of the mountain railways.
The newly renovated apartment is partly built with wood on the inside and outside and offers a wonderful view of the Churfirsten. The best way to enjoy this view is on the large sun terrace in a deck chair. Of course, the wooden grill can also be used.
The children are happy about the sandpit, the slide, discoveries and adventures in the private forest above the house.
The house is the starting point for many hikes and final discoveries of the Toggenburg.
Your apartment is on the ground floor: the children's room with bunk beds, the parents' room with double bed, are equipped with spacious closets. The living room with a cozy fireplace, sofa group and dining table is connected to the open kitchen.The kitchen is equipped with a 4-plate ceramic stove, oven, washing-up machine, fridge with freezer compartment and enough cupboards and drawers. The bathroom contains the toilet, sink and shower. The apartment is heated with an electric storage heater, the living room and the kitchen warms a pleasant floor heating. A washing machine and dryer are available in the entrance area. The shoe dryer dries and warms your shoes for the next day.
The rental price includes: Wi-Fi; 1 parking space; Kitchen towels; bedding; Terry towels, tourist taxes, electricity, wood. The only additional costs: final cleaning CHF 100.-

Summary: If you need a getaway this is your place. Not only was Hans and Barb the best host, the place was spotless. What a pleasure after flying from the states to arrive at such a charming location with wonderful views and cow with bells from your deck. Hans knows the area and will help with whatever need and very easy to to communicate with. Inside you have everything you will need including washer and dryer. I can't say enough about this property.

Summary: We've had an amazing time in Switzerland. Apartment has a great location and is well equipped. Hans-Jorg was very helpful, provided a lot of info about surroundings. Kids friendly stay - private slide, sand pit and toys! Thank you!

Summary: If you are looking for that perfect getaway from the crowds and the noise, then this property is for you. The little town of Alt St. Johann is that quintessential Swiss farm/ski town that you see only in books and this apartment puts you right in the middle of it. It had every modern convenience, wonderful patio with fantastic views and clean as could be. Hans, the owner, could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The beds were nice and firm and the washer and dryer were a fantastic extra. Don't hesitate to stay here. You will love it.

Summary: The host is very kind. The balcony faces a gorgeous view of the mountains. The chalet is fully equipped, newly renovated and very clean. I would absolutely visit back and stay at that same chalet.

Summary: This home was a great choice for our family. We were able to enjoy great hiking in the surrounding Alpstein and even took a couple of day trips to central Switzerland. The kitchen had a complete inventory of cookware and accessories with lots of cabinet space which made cooking a breeze. The nearby Sparr had a quality meat selection as well as fruits and vegetables. It was an easy walk from the house. Remember to carry your own reusable bag for groceries. Although you can always obtain one at the store if you forget. An automobile is advisable although there are two bus stations, both about 5 to 10 minutes by foot. The house has a nice clothes washer and dryer so you can pack less clothes and save room in your luggage for souvenirs. (Just a suggestion) There is a good wifi signal available but no tv, but who travels to Switzerland to watch television anyway. The homeowners were very friendly and responsive to requests. For some reason my GPS could not find the address listed so if you have the same problem just go the last house on the right on Farbstrasse. It's on a slight hill. There is a smoker available for use and wood is provided. We found it more expedient to pan fry most of our meats and to use the oven as well, although we did enjoy smoking a few sausages one evening. In summary I would definitely recommend this property. I look forward to returning and will book here again.
