Summary: Lovely setting overlooking the Illinois river. Plenty of beds, bathrooms, and seating for our family reunion. The fireplaces indoors and outside were great. We loved the piano, which was in tune, for our sing alongs. And the large deck outside was wonderful for enjoying morning coffee and bird watching on the river. The water supply is from a well so bring bottled water for drinking and coffee making if you don‘t like the heavy iron taste of well water. Make sure to catch sunset over the river.

Summary: I went on this trip with a group of friends during Labor Day weekend for a Fantasy Football draft. This was a great experience overall, and I would recommend this for property for any group who wants to have a nice getaway. The first thing that struck us upon arrival was the breathtaking view of the Illinois River. The property's location is truly remarkable, offering a serene and picturesque backdrop for our holiday escape. We spent countless hours lounging on the private deck, sipping coffee in the morning sun, and toasting to beautiful sunsets in the evening. The tap water on this property uses a water-softener system, so there is a smell some may people may be unfamiliar with. We recommend loading up on plenty of bottled water for drinking. This property is close to Peoria and plenty of of nearby cities. This gives you access to plenty of shopping and restaurant options. The sleeping arrangements were more than sufficient for our group. Some of the beds are small, so be cognizant of that. There is a huge TV in the back room that was perfect for gaming or watching anything else. The house also had good wifi for us to stream stuff. Overall, our trip to this riverside rental property was a blast. It offered the perfect blend of relaxation and coziness in a stunning natural setting.

Summary: This stay was a little rocky at the start. Someone else was occupying the house when we first arrived and had to get a hotel room for the night. The homeowner did compensate us the rate of one nights stay for this mistake. The air was a little warmer in the house than we preferred and when we couldn’t seem to get the air temperature to drop over 24 hours the homeowners did show up to work on the outside unit which worked wonders. My main complaint about this stay was about the water. The water has such a strong rust component in it that it stains the showers orange and any white clothing washed in the washer. Overall the homeowners were helpful with helping us solve issues during our stay.

Summary: As my family get older we have decided to make memories instead of giving presents. We had a wonderful time at this house on the river. The weather was great. We fished, kayaked and had a fire by the water. The only complaint I have is I wish it wasn't mayfly season. WOW! But we had a big table to gather around and play games. Definitely made memories that I, the gramma, will remember. Thank you to the host.

Summary: This place worked fine for us. We just stayed here while attending a celebration of life event in nearby Washington IL, so really we did not spend a lot of time in the house. There was plenty of room for the 8 of us and the 3 bathrooms helped make it easy for everyone to get ready at the same time. We enjoyed coffee over looking the lake/river area from the back room. Other reviews are correct in stating some work is needed on the house. It does seem that some work is started and perhaps more is planned. Certainly this could be a special place with some investment. We had no problem communicating with the owner/manager, so all in all this worked fine for us.

Summary: Beautiful location, right on the water. Very spacious with room for all of us who flew in from Cali for my daughters wedding. It could use a good thorough cleaning. Needed dusting, thick layers of dust on ceiling fans, clogged dirty bathtub, etc. Still loved the place dirt and all!

Summary: Perfect for what we needed and plenty of room for the family to stay and spend time together. Beautiful location, enjoyed the grill and fire pit. We did have to fill the propane tank to use the grill, but everything can’t be perfect. Thanks for sharing your space, enjoyed it!

Summary: The house has had some good work and upgrades. Nice floors and countertops. Fun design and theme. I appreciate it. However, there are too many issues beyond these points: 1. Biggest problem was the water smelt and tasted rusty. I washed my clothes and it stained them yellowish... Even brushing your teeth was not enjoyable 2. Beds were not great. Some were ok. The other half not. 3. Ants always in the upper bathroom 4. Kitchen is lacking utensils/items. 5. The temperature between the upper and main floors are pretty inconsistent.

Summary: The house was practically steps from the Illinois river. There was plenty of room for my family to relax and have fun activities. The owner was very quick to respond to my requests. I will book this property again.

Summary: My experience was overall good. A few recommendations would be a little more cleaning in cracks and crevices throughout the entire house. Spiderwebs, cat hair, dust and flies were the main issues we had issues with. Refrigerator bottom mold. Make sure ceiling fans, TV and WIFI works and all appliances work. At 1269 I’d suggest replace all toilets due to yellow rings around them. Thanks for allowing us to stay. We’d definitely stay again. 👍🏾
