Positive: Let's be clear -- this is no resort. But if you want inexpensive, clean, quiet, air-conditioned accommodation for a night while you're travelling across southeastern Ontario during summer, this works. It's close to Highway 401 and there are plenty of stores/restaurants nearby. It's quite a bit cheaper than the going rate for motels. Fridge/freezer was much better than most Airbnb's or motels.

Negative: The mattresses are so-so (this is a student residence after all). Beds are doubles. There is no dish ware, no cutlery, no coffee maker.

Summary: This is a clean, cheap, and quiet place to stay overnight during a road trip.

Positive: The college staff we interacted with (security guard and dorm building front desk) were all cheerful, polite, courteous, and helpful. The college campus is conveniently located near Highway 401, along the main road north of the highway. Onsite parking is free for college dorm residence guests, (the parking lot is located a short walk from the dorm building). Our college dorm room was spacious, clean, and the beds were comfortable. The bedding linens were clean and cozy. Our college dorm room had an apartment-sized fridge (with a small freezer), and a microwave. Both appliances were clean. The 2 student desks in our dorm room were large. The bathroom was fairly spacious and clean. The towels were clean, (there were towels supplied for 2 people, and basic toiletries). There were 2 large, open closet spaces inside the dorm room entrance. (Bring your own clothes hangers.) The college dorm residence building is located in a quiet area on the college campus. The college dorm residence building has quiet hours rules at night: we didn’t hear any noise from other people within the building during the night. (We slept comfortably and soundly.) There were 2 vending machines with cold drinks and snacks (chips, etc.) on the ground floor in the dorm building. There was a laundry room with pay-per-use washers and dryers located on the ground floor of the college dorm building. There are several restaurants and stores close to this college campus, (a community centre is a short walk from the college dorm building. It was closed when we stayed.). There is a large supermarket, and a big department store (household goods) beside this college campus: convenient to pick up groceries and supplies nearby (within walking distance). There is another shopping plaza close by. There is a fair selection of restaurants/fast food places located within a short driving distance from this college campus.

Negative: Caution: there is no elevator in this college dorm building. If you are travelling with senior citizens, or people with mobility challenges (any person who has difficulty to walk up stairs), please look at other options, or specifically request a room on the ground floor when you make an online reservation. (Our room was on the second floor. A very helpful young man cheerfully and willingly offered to carry our suitcases upstairs for us: kudos to him for his kind, considerate gesture.) When we arrived at our room, the air conditioning was blasting, we felt very cold. (It was a warmer summer day.) Our room had its own heating/cooling unit; we simply turned off the air conditioning and opened the window to warm the room. Unfortunately, I couldn’t completely close the window later in the evening. (I didn’t realize that our window wasn’t completely closed until we woke up the next morning: I was wondering why I heard road noise all night! Since the college is located close to Highway 401, you can distinctly hear the constant hum of traffic if the window is open even a tiny gap.) There were no bedside tables/shelves or lamps. (Our room had two double beds, and 2 bright ceiling lights.) The shower stall in the bathroom was very small. The water flowing from the bathroom sink faucet was slow: low pressure. There was no (continental style) breakfast provided at this college dorm, (there are a few fast food restaurants close by, within short walking distance off campus). There is a small shared kitchen in the main floor common room area: be aware year-round resident students seem to have priority for kitchen privileges. I think it would be challenging to find an available time slot during standard meal times to prepare and cook your own meals (bring your own food and utensils). I recommend that you plan to either prepare your own food in your microwave (in your dorm room), or eat out at local restaurants. (We packed a cooler with our breakfast, etc.).

Positive: Friends in Brockville didn’t know about the accommodations. I’m sure they will recommend it to their visitors. It sure beat paying $200. A night. The staff was so friendly.

Negative: Husband likes to watch a little tv.i guess it was turned off for the season.
