Positive: We had a wonderful week at the Residence Porto Ulisse, a family-owned boutique resort with so much to offer. From the free shuttle to and from the train station, to the immaculate and beautiful grounds, to the access (and free shuttle) to a lovely beach, to the proximity to the lively town of Tropea, this property checked all the boxes for us. The gracious owners, Aldo and Anna, take great pride in what they do and go above and beyond to make their guests feel comfortable and welcome. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and it was nice to be able to purchase light lunches until 3 pm. Dinner options include the excellent Tonino’s just down the road, as well as restaurants in Parghelia a short walk away, not to mention the numerous outstanding eateries in nearby Tropea (a longer walk or a 10 euro shuttle ride from the hotel). All in all, a memorable experience in a gorgeous region of beautiful Italy.

Positive: We had an amazing experience at Porto Ulisse. The location is absolutely stunning, few minutes up the road there is an excellent restaurant Da Tonino where they serve pizzas , fresh pasta and fish. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming always with a smile. The atmosphere is calm so perfect for families. A special thank you goes to Romania and Mimo and Aldo who went above and beyond to make our visit comfortable and unforgettable. The shuttle service made it easy for us to visit Tropea and a free shuttle to the nearby beach. The cost for Tropea is €20 with return which is cheaper then a taxi. They also give you a beach ⛱️ for free. In Parghelia centre you find small grocery stores and a pharmacy and also a bar near the train station where you can buy train tickets. The American bar up the road sells mostly everything. If you are looking for an amazing stay in Calabria , Porto Ulisse is your residence and we would definitely return .
Negative: There is only one air-conditioned room in the kitchenette so u have to leave the bedrooms open. We were ok as it was September and we were on the first floor. Small suggestions a shower caddy in the shower is essential and a small bin. Tips get mosquito repellent and beach towels and snorkeling gear. Shampoo and soap are available but no conditioner.

Positive: Extremly friendly and helpful owners! Nice pool on the roof with a very nice view over Tropea and the ocean. Good breakfast. Good placement of the air conditioning in the kitchen area that kept both bedrooms cool without having air blowing on you when sleeping.
Negative: It was sometimes a bit difficult to find seats right away at the breakfast as there are not that many chairs, but it was not a big issue.

Positive: The rooftop pool and bar area was very good. The rooms were very clean but a bit small for our family of 4 adults and a child. Beds were comfy. Parking was free and under cover but tight. Breakfast was good value for 8 euros each.
