Summary: We loved this place so much—beautiful grounds and an elegant, characterful house. Peaceful at night, surrounded by vineyards, but convenient to Bergerac and the rest of the Dordogne Valley. The hosts were charming and wonderful and helped us immediately with any minor issues. I wish every property delivered so much value. Don't hesitate to stay here.

Summary: Nice cottage in a beautiful setting of the Perigord. The arrival at La Gironie was a pleasant encounter with Mr and Mrs Pelletant, who keep a loving eye on their property. The propery is tidy, with correctly sized to even spacious bedrooms. The same holds for the bathrooms. The separate toilets are a practical bonus, especially when visiting with friends. The dining room annex kitchen is large but is missing some cosiness, so weather allowing we took all meals outside at the swimming pool. The kitchen itself is practical, sizeable and well equipped. There is a small salon, but too small to enjoy with our party. Back to the outside, the terras was enjoyable as mentioned, with a nice view, although a bit shielded by wind screens unfitting in the overall look when sitting at the table. We were fortunate with the weather, so a lot of time was spent there. The unheated pool is rather small, but is nice to dwell around. WiFi is acceptable in the salon and dining room area, but the extender does not cover most of the bedrooms. But isn’t that the idea of a holiday in the Perigord: to get away from it all? Summarizing: a lot of value for the price. We can definitley recommend the domaine La Gironie of Mr and Mrs Pelletant.

Summary: Beautiful views, elegant rooms, tall ceilings, great bathrooms and well-equipped kitchen. The chateau oozes tranquility, light streams through wide shuttered windows and French doors, with far-reaching vistas across miles of vineyards. The sunsets are beautiful and the decor is trés chic. Béatrice and Francis are a delight, dropping off fruit from their orchards and very welcoming. They speak limited English but google translate worked wonders! Pomport is ideally placed for visiting beautiful villages and markets all over the Perigord. You need a car as the local shops are in Sigoulès, 3-4km away and walkable at a push. Several bakeries close by, but everything closed on Sundays so if you arrive on Saturday pick up enough food to get by until Monday. Bergerac airport is 15 minutes away and there’s a large Leclerc hypermarket very close to the airport - google maps takes you straight there. A lovely restful holiday setting, perfect for a couple of families or one group.

Summary: We loved our stay at La Gironie, and would highly recommend the villa for any family stay. We booked the house for a family birthday, and whilst the photos look impressive, our expectations were exceeded upon arriving at the house. The mansion is spotless and in top condition, and most importantly for us, the owners supply all necessary equipment to host a family event. The most impressive feature of this house, however, is the most amazing location. It is easily reachable from Bergerac airport (and less than 90 mins from Bordeaux Airport), whilst located in a true rural setting. The view is really without comparison - rolling hills of beautiful vineyards, with the terrace facing the direction of the sun and offering the most stunning sunsets. We spent every evening in awe of that view, and the days looking at it from the lovely (and sustainably filtered!) swimming pool. The owners of the property were very friendly in engaging with us about what the area has to offer, and offering any additional help with our stay, however also offered us our privacy during our stay. We very much appreciate their hospitality, and will most definitely be returning with our extended family in the future.
