Safety and Independence are key at this cottage on all-sports Turk Lake with private lake frontage and a 30' dock. This set up allows for a group of people with a wide range of physical abilities to vacation safely and comfortably together. Bring your kayaks or use our rowboat.
The cement circle driveway allows for close and easy parking while providing zero-entry to the cottage. The living room door provides zero-entry to the lakefront deck.
All doorways are 36" wide with and interior doors are sliding barn-style for easy use. The open floorplan eliminates hallways and clear paths are maintained in each room.
The dining area comfortably seats 4 people with sturdy chairs and a drop-leaf table.
The kitchen is also wheelchair accessible. Cabinet bases have pull-out drawers with high toe-kicks and open bases under the sink and cook-top. Counter-top appliances are conveniently located on a rolling cart and include a multi-function oven, microwave oven, and electric grill. The full-size refrigerator has a bottom freezer with pull-out drawers.
The living room comfortably seats 4 with a couch, electric recliner and side chair. An adjustable table, end table and smart tv complete the space.
The master bedroom has an adjustable queen-sized bed, 2 night-stands and a "rolling closet" that can be moved to allow greater wheel-chair mobility.
The second bedroom has two twin beds. One is standard and the other one is a twin-xl sized mattress on an adjustable frame. It also has a 5-drawer dresser and bedside table.
The bathroom has a 5' square roll-in shower with overhead and handheld showerheads, wall sink with tilting mirror & commode area. Grab bars are conveniently located throughout the bathroom.
Outside amenities include the deck with ample seating, firepit with additional seating, sand box/kayak launch at water's edge, 30' dock and charcoal grill. This cottage is located on Front Turk Lake which is an all-sports lake; ideal for boating, water sports and fishing.
Please note that there are surveillance cameras monitoring the entrances to the cottage.

Summary: I can’t say enough about this beautiful cabin. It is super clean and comfy…Sara thought of EVERYTHING! The restaurant is a 5 minute walk and has great food and outdoor seating. This has nothing to do with the cabin- but it would be great to have a public launch. We rented a boat on Turks lake which was only about 20 min away. The water has a bit of a smell to it when you first run it but it goes away with use. We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to go back!!

Summary: Respite House is all it claims to be and more. Accessible rentals are hard to find, and this adorable one had everything needed, from no threshold doorways and adjustable beds to a fully accessible kitchen and bathroom. The neighborhood is peaceful and the view of the lake from the back deck was ideal for morning coffee and for night star gazing. Our host was easily reached via text message. I recommend this VRBO highly.

Summary: My 82 year old Mom and I had a wonderful stay. My Mom can’t walk very far and is on oxygen and the cabin was easily access-able, very comfortable and close to a great restaurant and a lovely view right on the lake.

Summary: This was a long weekend trip before school starts. Having two children with mobility needs, it can be difficult to find accommodations. However, this property was perfect for our family!!! This property was completely accessible, open layout, very clean. Just wish Mother Nature was as accommodating! Will be back next year!!

Summary: Our stay at Turk Lake was amazing! Sarah’s cottage is so “beachy”, incredibly well designed and equipped. She has thought of everything! Our son loved fishing off the dock and playing with the sand toys. The deck is amazing to sit, relax and enjoy the lake views. Turk Lake bar is just a short walk for amazing food/breakfast. Sarah is very responsive and easy to work with. There’s nothing we would change about this cottage, it’s perfect! We made so many memories over the 4th of July and we will be booking again with Sarah very soon!
