Summary: This property is absolutely amazing, beautiful and clean. There is very thoughtful attention to details and noticeably the design of the home was very thought out. Loved the seclusion of the land and history surrounding it. There is a vey cute mom and pop country store not too far. Loved their sandwiches and baked goods! Owners very easy to communicate with and reachable. Would recommend and stay again. Thank you.

Summary: I truly can't express what an amazing experience it was staying at Sandstone Sanctuary last fall. I had a lot going on in my life, both personally and professionally, and Sandstone was the answer I didn't even know I was looking for. Driving up the beautiful tree lined driveway immediately put me in a relaxed state of mind and you can't help but be overcome with the beauty. The first thing my friend and I did was make some of the delicious local coffee that was provided and sit on the deck catching up and enjoying the amazing view and listening to the sounds of nature. While I could have slept all day in the luxurious bed, I got up at the crack of dawn to watch the sun rise and see the animals around us come to life. While not someone who relaxes easily (thus, the need for this retreat), Justine led us in some light yoga and breathing exercises that left me feeling calm and clear and offered some helpful tools to try when I went back to Indiana. There were so many little personal touches that made the stay so much more than I could have expected, like the sweet welcome note and treats and all the information on the best places to hike, explore, and visit in the area. Honestly, though, you don't need to leave Sandstone to get the best views or trails. We hiked the paths that were right on the property and they even provided bug and tick spray and other gear to stay protected. The trails were easy to follow and the views were stunning. I would stop every few yards just to listen to the leaves rustling in the breeze and the birds and other animals calling out to each other. Until you experience this kind of quiet, it's really hard to understand how therapeutic it is. In fact, the last day, I took several recordings and uploaded them to my digital photo frame as a way to capture this new found "happy place" when I returned home. I don't think there was any detail left out that I could have asked for during my stay, from the clawfoot tub to the stunning views out every window to the record player with some of my favorite albums like James Taylor. They've thought of everything to make your stay a true sanctuary from life's craziness and I can't wait until I am able to return for another stay.

Summary: Full disclosure - I've stayed at Sandstone Sanctuary three times now and I'm a little nervous to leave a review because once the word is out, I worry I won't be able to get a reservation! The property is beautiful. You have your own pond and trail. Your only visitors are birds and squirrels and deer - and lightening bugs in the summer! You hear the pure sounds of wind, rain and even leaves falling. And then there's the cabin. You are inside and yet feel outside. The breeze in the summer smells amazing and the stove in the fall is cozy. You have everything you need and then some. The claw foot bathtub is perfectly indulgent and the record player has the perfect soundtrack for your stay. The extra touches like coffee, tea, fresh fruit and local treats are wonderful. I've enjoyed hours reading, eating, meditating, doing yoga, hiking, and just sitting, listening and observing nature here. It's just as advertised - truly a sanctuary. And in today's world, provides must needed respite for those who need it. It's why I keep coming back. Thank you Justine and Michael!

Summary: The house was extremely clean and organized, cozy and had plenty of amenities available for a quiet and restful getaway. We were surrounded by nothing but trees which added to the peaceful atmosphere. We enjoyed using the record player, wood fireplace and reading the books available. The loft space was great for yoga too. We are looking forward to another trip there!

Summary: High recommend! We came here to celebrate my graduation and it was the perfect get away. The house is better stocked than my own apartment and we never ran out of things to do, from puzzles to yoga, hiking, and grilling! It was also super easy to run to the grocery store and go into town for some ice cream, but we still always felt like we were entirely secluded. I haven’t been that relaxed in so long! We plan to come back and both think it was one of our best vacations.
