Summary: This must have been one of our most wonderful holidays. Jenni and Robert are perfect hosts. They were very kind and gave us a warm welcome. The house is fantastic, we enjoyed every minute we spent there. The garden was a nice place to stay, eat, sunbathe and enjoy all the birds. We learned from Jenni and Robert where to go and what to do. Burgundy is a wonderful area to be. Especially the kitchen in the house is great, you will never see a better equipped one. Thanks to our hosts, we had a wonderful time and will certainly come back again.

Summary: We had an amazing time at Robert and Jenni’s beautiful property. The garden is stunning, and for both of us, just spending time relaxing at the property and enjoying the garden was a highlight of our holiday. Robert and Jenni are delightful hosts, making us feel very welcome and sharing their wide knowledge of the area. The property has everything that you could possibly need. We have stayed in many rental properties over the years, but this was a vastly different and superior experience. It is also perfectly placed for enjoying the riches that Burgundy has to offer. Sadly, a week is just not long enough to explore fully, but it is a good excuse to return next year to see a bit more!

Summary: We could not fault this property both inside and out. The house is tastefully decorated and just so comfortable and relaxing. The garden is beautiful, private and peaceful and it is a real bonus that the whole seating area is under a large canopy. It is also incredibly quiet through the night (no cockerels or church bells which is so often the case in rural properties). It has the advantage, however, that it benefits from the best of both worlds as it’s hard to believe that when you’re sitting in the peace and quiet of the garden that you are literally five minutes from the motorway giving easy access to so many places including Dijon and Beaune - both of which are within half hour drives. There is even a very well-stocked Carrefour Contact (and a McDonalds!) a few minutes along the road at the edge of the village. In Dijon, it’s worth following the Owl’s trail (there’s a leaflet in the house) early on as it quickly gives you a feel for the old centre. The Hospices in Beaune is definitely worth a visit and Fontenay Abbey is so serene and cool on a hot day. Chateauneuf-en-Auxois is worth going to for the lovely views and for the delicious crepes served at L’Oree du bois. The walk along the canal from Creancey to Vandenesse-en-Auxois (an easy 3 miles each way) is beautiful with quaint and interesting houses at the locks. For a stop before heading back, Il etait une fois is a quaint little tea room with outside seating that serves good food, cakes and coffee. It is such a lovely area with so much to see and do and made even better by having such a special place to live in. Jenni and Robert are friendly and helpful but at the same time very discreet - the perfect hosts. We would, without doubt, return here and hope to do so in the future.

Summary: As soon as we arrived, we just knew that it would be perfect. The farmhouse is very spacious, with all homely features (even uk tv), with great cooking facilities, huge fireplace with real wooden fire for the cold nights, exposed oak beams, exposed stone walls with nice soft rugs for your feet in the cold mornings. There's a great dinner table for entertaining, plus if your lucky "keys to whisky cabinet". The huge living room and kitchen lead onto a wonderful wet room, upstairs is very spacious with 2 big bedrooms, 1 with en-suite, but also a magical music lounge, it looks like it could be another 2 bedrooms ready soon. Outside has a beautifully designed dining area, with BBQ, and shade for the hot summer days, the plants & flowers add to the charm, even a cabbage patch down the bottom of the garden, plus the FAIRIES!!! Listen out for the Donkey. Plenty of parking space next to farmhouse as well. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming, french speaking, very knowledgeable, especially on the wines, and wine region. Infact, they helped us plan our bike ride to the cote-dor, and cote de beaune region, helping us to book bikes and trailer for the kids. That area isnt to be missed for any wine lover, amazing close to Beaune, Beaune to Santenay cycle route is 24km of winding flat vineyards roads also accessible from Beaune, hardly any climbing, perfect for the young ones, and a chance to see how the vines are grown and sample of course. Djion itself is 30 minutes and is a good day out, with lovely cool eateries, feels very safe and friendly, also has some stylish shops, and don't forget to follow the OWL trail. Creancey were the farmhouse is, is quite but typically french, with its own chateau, no real amenities here, but a carrefour is just down the road for all the basics, but Chateauneuf on the hill is within touching distance for a nice meal and drink on a night. Hope to come back again and again.

Summary: It was really a wonderful week of our staying in the farmhouse. Very quiet and serene place, although enough comfortably located for one day journeys to Dijon and Beaune. There are two lakes for swimming nearby reachable with the car in 6-8 minutes. The house is very spacious and abundantly equipped. The garden is very beautiful, designed in old pastoral French style. An ideal place to rest and enjoy your meal. The owners are very helpful and friendly. Both speak fluent English. Next summer we will be most likely there again.
