Positive: our room was large, the bathroom was nice sized and it was very clean. we had 2 balconies and the view was amazing. the breakfast was super good, a very nice spread. we only had dinner once at the hotel and it was outstanding! price was very reasonable. the host was so warm and generous and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we wanted. would highly recommend staying at the Lamm hotel. we hated leaving. the little town didn't have anything in the way of shopping but there were lots of places to eat and they were very good. Rudesheim is very close and they have everything you need there. Quaint little town right on the Rhine. the boat dock was across the street and you could take it to most of the towns that run along the Rhine. lots of beautiful trails to hike and walk.
Summary: beautiful well appointed room, everyone was very kind and we loved every minute of our stay there.

Positive: The hotel is in a lovely location, right next to the River Rhine and in a lovely village. The room we stayed in was large, with two windows - one to the river and one facing down the village. The bed was very comfortable, although the pillows less so. The bathroom was large and well equipped. Breakfast was varied and plentiful and the one meal we enjoyed there was well cooked and served, although the menu was a set one with little choice. Car parking is available, but it's restricted in numbers and where I parked my car was a bit tight to get in and out.
Negative: Bit hard to put my finger on, but there wasn't a particularly friendly attitude from the management team. They certainly answered all my queries, but it was in a rather superior and dictatorial manner and didn't encourage me to ask again - I got more pleasant and ready help from the Italian Restaurant around the corner and the Pension Schuster staff where we ate a few times. I would divorce the lady who served drinks and meals from the above comment as she was lovely. I guess the relevant question is, "Would I stay in the Rheinhotel Lamm again"? Well, no I wouldn't.
Summary: Lovely area

Positive: This is a nice family hotel on a great location. The spacious, comfortable room had a beautiful view of the Rhine river. The manager (owner) and staff (one exception) were very friendly and welcoming. We decided to have lunch and dinner at the hotel and the food was excellent. Our stay would have been great if we were served by another waiter at dinner, which is why the hotel still receives a positive review. The negative experience about this waiter still needs to be told in order to warn future customers however, so that's why I wrote down our experiences with this waiter in detail. It didn't fit in the 'negatives' textbox, which it why the story starts here. **Rude waiter** To be frank, our dinner at the restaurant of this hotel mostly ruined our stay here. The food was excellent but the waiter who served us was impolite, impatient and simply rude in the end over a simple misunderstanding. When we asked for the check, we asked in (limited) German (we're not native German speakers, but we like to make an effort to speak the language of the countries we visit) if we could put the bill on our room number, which is what we successfully did for lunch with another waiter. He wouldn't accept this (for a vague reason) however and said paying 'in bar' would be best, which we misunderstood for paying per card.
Negative: When he returned to our table it became clear that 'in bar bezahlen' meant paying with cash instead of per card. Realising our mistake we apologized two times for misunderstanding him, told him that we didn't have any cash on us, but that we could either pay with our debit cards (accepted in Germany and the hotel) or that he could put it on our room number like we initially asked. He sighed multiple times, audibly unhappy with the situation and told us in an unfriendly tone that we clearly agreed that we would pay with cash, that it's a LOT of trouble to correct this and that he would rather not go through that process. We apologised again, reminded him (in English this time) that we're not native German speakers, that we didn't have cash and that it was an unfortunate mistake. He sighed once more, looked very annoyed and went back to the counter to get the debit card machine. Since we we're quite surprised by his behaviour we discussed this (politely) in Dutch which he (assumingly) overheard when he returned, since he immediately proceeded to ask us which country we were from, on which we replied 'The Netherlands', on which he made a sort of gurgling sounds with his mouth while making "ducklike talk movements" with his hands for like 10 seconds. I'm not sure what he meant by this, but it surely came across as mocking our language. After that he went into 'monologuing mode' about tipping and complained to us that German waiters couldn't get a tip if customers pay per card instead of cash and that we should consider this unfairness if he would serve us again tomorrow. In hindsight we believe this was the true reason for his behaviour, which would also explain why he didn't want to put the tab on our room number. At that moment however, we were so surprised and overwhelmed that we simply wanted to leave. We paid per card (entire process took less than 10 seconds) and we went to our room.
Summary: Nice hotel on a great location with one terribly rude waiter

Positive: Traditional hotel with a good room, and great river view. 'Exciting' balcony (not for those with fear of heights). Very good beds. Great location - a lot quieter than Rudesheim but availability to the boats and cable car.
Negative: Air con was not working at its best but unless high temperatures outside not a big issue.
Summary: Great hotel in a fantastic location.

Positive: The room had a most beautiful view of the Rhine. Spacious, comfortable room. Good food. Fantastic location for cycling. The hotel has a bicycle storage room where electric bicycles can be charged.
Negative: No problem for us but the sink might be a bit high for some. There is electric car charging in the public car park behind the hotel requiring use of the eCharge+ app (no RFID card reader). It didn't work for us though might work for those with a German electricity contract. There are fast chargers in Rüdesheim am Rhein.
