Positive: It was nice from the staff team to upgrade one of the rooms due to birthday. It was the room on the top with a big terrace. We spent only 1 night there, but it was a great view on the city.
Negative: The beds are hard. And although there was a hot water in the shower the bathroom was super cold in February.

Positive: Most amazing building we stayed at during our two weeks in Morocco. It's clear it belonged to a very rich family and the owner kept all of its beauty intact. It's main space is a beautifully decorated "living room" that you can see on the picture. Each room has a name of a city in Morocco and has accents from given city. The room we got was the "leader" room that was up to modern standards. This place could could be part of guided tours to show off morrocan architecture while Meknes is in renovation ;)
Negative: Meknes is in renovation ;) (this place made up for it though)

Positive: We were very happy with our stay here! The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable - excellent value for money!! The property is traditional and intricately decorated, keeping the original features whilst incorporating all the mod cons needed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful - all spoke excellent French and some spoke excellent English too! Breakfast was fresh and simple - the bread is made on site daily and the tropical smoothie was delicious!
Summary: Perfect spot to explore Meknes old town for us, thank you!

Positive: Staying at Riad D’Or was an unforgettable experience. It is located right in the heart of the historic medina but it still offers the perfect combination of convenience and calmness—the rooms are incredibly quiet despite being in such a lively area. Everything was spotlessly clean, the furniture is beautiful and traditionally authentic. The staff were absolutely amazing—professional, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to assist us with anything we needed. Thank you for everything, we are really grateful to have the opportunity to stay with you. What I also want to mention - the food here is simply outstanding. The breakfasts were incredible, with a wide variety of options. We also had dinner at the riad, and it was nothing short of perfect—authentic Moroccan cuisine at its finest. I highly recommend Riad D’Or to anyone visiting Meknes. When we’re getting back, this is the place we will return to.

Positive: The location was great, easy to find and near all the action, close to any sight seeing, not far from an ostrich and directly in the medina. It's around 12 dh on the meter to the main station or 20 if and you should tip because a quid for a taxi is cheap....30 dh when you're ripped off. The room was good, a good size and a decent shower. The roof terrace is expansive with great sunset views with the storks flying home to roost with the large nests pirched around the city. The riad cats like cheese. Meknes is much more relaxed than Fes which is a 44 dh train ride away in first class. Allow a fake guide to scam you put of 50 dh to show you around because you might see something or somewhere you wouldn't see or dare go normally, this is a good morning activity.
Negative: The bed was very firm and the room was dimly lit, the toilet seat was loose...we weren't offered tea on arrival which was a shame but hey ho! Overall not much to grumble over and I would stay here again.

Positive: EVERYTHING: the hotel was beautiful, room was big and beautiful, bathroom was one of the most beautiful ive seen, staff was amazing, breakfast was great in a palatial surrounding, this riad really was the best of Meknes. Do yourself a BIG favor and stay here, you will love the riad, the people and the rooms. Its literally staying in a mansion for a very, very low price ( i know it is the average price for Morocco, but it is one of those cases where you actually get A LOT more than you pay for). I am a very critical and difficult person ( a bit ocd) and when there is a problem i am the first to complain, so i think it is only fair to complement when it is deserved, and this place was amazing.
Negative: Swimming pool had cloudy water, it was not nice wondering if the water was properly clean, so i only swam for 5 minutes until giving up because i was afraid the cloudiness of the water could mean uncleanliness. I had hoped to enjoy the Swimming pool more, because it was the reason for my booking, but i thought i would find transparent water... But please bear in mind that the whole hotel was VERY clean and well kept, so this really was the only less positive thing to say. Even so, the terrace was great, beautiful and peaceful, so the whole experience of being there was amazing. I LOVED this place.
