Or walk a few steps and launch the kayak or inner tube. The Cacapon is both lovely and swimable, great for fishing.
The river draws you from every angle, as it is visible from every room. The house is both spacious and intimate, with skylights and a great living room. The furnished house offers great light and an airy feeling. Two balconies and a screened-in porch let you enjoy indoor/outdoor living in one of the most relaxed settings on the East Coast.

Noise – Sound travels more than you might think. Please be courteous and minimize noise your neighbors will hear. Please cease outdoor noise that is audible to neighbors by 10 pm.
Animals – Only dogs permitted. There is a $25 extra cleaning fee per dog per stay. Maximum number of dogs allowed: Two (2). Kindly provide a picture of the dog/s that will be our guests to give us an idea of hair length.
Dogs must be on leashes. Please don’t leave pet waste on landscaped property or where people are likely to walk. Please respect wildlife and leave it be – no hunting or collecting.
Fireworks and firearms – No fireworks, except for Independence Day and the New Year, and only if permitted by individual property owners. No firearms at any time.
River Access and Trespassing – Areas for Morgan Woods residents, owners and visitors to walk, drive or bicycle are Amberwood Lane, Amberwood Road, Canns Neck Lane, and the recreation lot by the main entrance. Please respect private property and do not trespass on properties of others, whether or not cabins are present. All lots in Morgan Woods are privately owned, both those with cabins and those that are empty. River access is by the main entrance at route 9 and Amberwood Lane. The dirt road leads to a boat ramp on the left. Stay to the left of the fence and gate marking Stotler Landing, which is privately owned and not part of Morgan Woods. Please do not block others’ access with your vehicle, and please do not attempt to access the river by entering any other lot.
Vehicles – Motorized unregistered off-road vehicles such as ATVs, motor bikes, scooters, snowmobiles, golf carts, and other non-street-legal vehicles are not permitted on Morgan Woods roads or in the rec lot. Please observe the 20 mph speed limit within Morgan Woods.

Summary: My family enjoyed our stay at this cabin in the woods. Being on the river is relaxing and we enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings, and loved that it was dog friendly for a last minute trip. With a cabin you certainly expect some bugs/cobwebs etc, but I would suggest a more thorough clean, especially for the cleaning fee paid. Blankets and quilts for the beds could also be replaced and it would be 5 star.

Summary: This property has a great location if you are looking to be far from city noises and distractions and at peace with nature. Easy access to river and we also made use of the kayak provided. There are multiple decks and screened space to soak in the beautiful views too. However, the upkeep of the deck and outdoor furniture could be better. Also the hot plate stove in the kitchen is a bit old so takes time to cook/heat food. Will suggest coming well stocked with food and groceries as the place is a 20-25 mins drive from Berkeley Springs.

Summary: We had a great family weekend. The property is as described. The location is remote, peaceful and absolutely beautiful. We would like to come back again in the summer months to take advantage of kayaking and fishing on the river.
