River House Retreat is 10 acres in a country setting (5 acres are crossed fenced for cows) on the Caloosahatchee River in Alva, FL. Perfect location for a seasonal retreat, business retreats, family vacations, weddings, honeymoons, birthdays, anniversaries, or just a place to relax & reconnect. The property exhibits stunning views of river and across the other side is a very wooded Caloosahatchee Regional Park. Perfect sunsets, pictures & privacy. 6 bedrooms & 5 baths, swimming pool, fire-pit, boat slip/dock , pool table & 74 x 44 Pole Barn.
As you enter the gate to the property, the driveway is very long, a beautiful country setting with lots of oak trees, fenced & crossed fenced with cattle roaming a portion of acres as the drive circles around landscaping to the front of the house. This spacious house is a 2 story ranch style 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, that boasts updated stainless steel appliances, open living concept, pool table, a gigantic granite island bar/table in kitchen with 18 bar stools where the family/whole group can enjoy meals together, visit for your function or simply relax and socialize.
2nd master bedroom king bed is the only bedroom on main floor and is adjacent to the kitchen with bathroom next door. There is another guest bathroom downstairs off of the living room for your guest. The huge master bedroom suite is on the 2nd floor with connecting bathroom that has river view. Bedroom #3 is a Queen bed that has river view with bathroom next door. Bedroom #4 is 2 queen beds that has river view next to bathroom. Bedroom #5 has 2 queen beds with river view connected to a Jack-n-Jill bathroom which connects to bedroom #6 with 2 queen beds. This house has a total of 2 king beds, 7 queen beds and a couch to sleep at least 18 people.
As you walk down a sidewalk from the back of house to the river you will encounter the 75 x 44 pole barn, a fire-pit circle, then proceed to the pool deck where you’ll find 2 shade canopies over 2 tables including 12 chairs along with 8 chaise lounge chairs and stunning river views. Kayaks are extra fee. Overlooking the river you will find the Caloosahatchee Regional Park with scenic wooded views and walking trails. Outside as you walk around you’ll discover that you are surrounded by water, beautiful oak trees, fresh clean air and several species of birds. It is a delight to share this beautiful retreat home with you.

Summary: Everything about this property is amazing -- just truly the best! We got married there last weekend, surrounded by friends and family. Everything was BEAUTIFUL. The trees are unbelievable, and the way the property lights up at night is majestic. Teresa truly went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. We will definitely be back. 10/10 recommend!!

Summary: We booked the River House Retreat for our wedding and needless to say... it was perfect! The house and property were well kept and The property manager was on top of things and easy to communicate with. Plan on booking for our anniversary next year. Would definitely recommend to anybody interested.

Summary: Whether you are getting married here, coming with a couple of friends, or if you just want the whole place to yourself and your spouse this place is absolutely perfect. We brought a whole group of friends for a bachelor/bachelorette get together and it was the best spot. There are hiking trails across the street, you can rent canoes and kayaks in case you don't wanna bring your own or if you don't have enough for everybody to bring down. We caught fish, we kayaked, we rode scooters, we played cornhole which we brought our own boards. Everything was a dream The property is absolutely stunning, I have absolutely nothing negative to say.

Summary: There were 11 of us that stayed in this home. We all loved the property and all that was provided. There was plenty to do at the house with the pool, the use of kayak's, fishing poles, pool table, visiting with the cows etc. House was clean upon arrival and well supplied with items to use. Theresa the property manager was a big help before we arrived answering many questions, and we had no surprises upon arrival. All went well. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to relax and enjoy some time away from busy lifestyles. It allows for great relaxation and fun in the sun. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Summary: A stay you won’t be disappointed with! The house is just right; clean, an abundance of comfortable sleeping space, a nice spot to put your feet up late at night, and a well appointed kitchen centered around a massive island. Outside, the yard is about the biggest we saw on the river. Room for any activity and more. A great pool right on the river, with plenty of lounge/seating and built in shade if you need it. The pole barn is a unique bonus for watching a rain storm blow through, a ping pong tournament or three, or for kids riding scooters around. Plenty of good finds in the garage for keeping the kids busy. Teresa, the host, was amazing. Always a quick reply and she gave us several good recommendations for things to do in the area. The groundskeeper is right out your back door if you need anything. Toss in a day on the river in a boat rental, and it’ll be a week to remember!
