Come home to your own piece of heaven in the north woods of Northeastern Michigan Elk Country!
This spectacular white cedar full log cabin/home is nestled amongst a mixture of towering, evergreen pine and hardwoods with your very own beautiful 323' frontage of the Thunder Bay River, designated as a blue-ribbon trout stream, running by the front yard. The cabin/home looks and feels very secluded yet town is just a short walk away. You can grab a kayak from the kayak holder and launch right from the front yard. After a pleasant one hour river float you can get out at the township park.
You can connect with ATV/snowmobile trail #4 and #9 right from the cabin/home at the end of the gravel driveway, and ATV's can be driven on the edge of Montmorency County roads!
A screen room, located next to the woods, gives you additional outdoor space to relax and enjoy watching the birds and animals without them noticing you are there. And then there is that great cabin front porch...where you can sit and rock, or enjoy the porch swing, while watching the ducks, Louie the loon, and other wildlife at the river.
If that's not close enough for you, take a cup of coffee to the dock and enjoy sitting at the river's edge for a closer look at that eagle flying by. You can even catch smallmouth bass right off the dock. Or lay back on the hammocks next to the dock and watch the birds fly over you in the sky. Try not to fall asleep if you can, or go ahead and fall asleep if you want to.
Pull some wood off the firewood shelter and start a campfire in the fire pit. You can sit comfortably around the fire in heavy Adirondack chairs and plan your next adventure while munching on s'mores. Don't worry if the power goes out, (it rarely does), because there is a whole house, bunkhouse and garage generator that automatically turns on if the power goes out and automatically turns off when power is restored. You don't even have to lift a finger!

Summary: We had a wonderful time relaxing at the cabin, and enjoyed kayaking up the river and hanging out at the fire pit. It was approximately an hour drive to Mackinac Island- close enough to go there for the day and then come back and relax some more before heading home on Monday. Everything was in working order and the cabin was furnished with everything you could need for cooking a full meal.

Summary: Pictures do not do this home justice. Being back in the woods and right on the river make for a peaceful getaway. House was very clean and well maintained. Can't wait to stay again.

Summary: Absolutely beautiful cabin that came fully stocked with everything you would need. Awesome location that feels so remote but you are only a couple minutes from downtown Atlanta. Beautiful river setting and awesome fire pit setup. This place checks all the boxes. Would definitely not hesitate to stay again.

Summary: The property was neat and clean, and the master bedroom bed was VERY comfortable. It is a very quiet property nestled back off of a long drive, directly on the river. The river was quiet and peaceful. (The upstream neighbors were a bit loud and rowdy during the afternoon, however it WAS a hot afternoon weekend. We could only hear them, not see them.) It is a relaxing setting with a beautiful cabin inside and out. We saw a bit of small wildlife and enjoyed the scenery. The only negatives we could say was that the TV Didn’t work, and there was no icemaker as stated in the Vrbo ad, however, they had a portable speaker so we listened to music and chatted. You can get ice close if need be and the property owner stated an ice maker was ordered. They have a wonderful and large fire pit and canoes/kayaks to use for the river. A lot to do and see if you’d like to explore!

Summary: The Cabin was lovely. The front porch was inviting and the river was fun to explore with the kids. We had a great time catching up with family. Oh and the beds were very comfortable! Bonus! Everyone slept great.

Summary: We had a wonderful time up north at this beautiful log cabin home. We saw otters in the sream, a blue heron flew down to fish for trout. We saw 2 pilated woodpeckers, deer, and heard and were able to get video of a grouse drumming. We took a couple of the kayaks for a ride and sipped our cofffee in the mornings on the porch while watching the birds. Cooked perch we caught at Fletchers over the fire at night. Wonderfully stocked, and clean place to vacation. We will be back with our kids and Grandkids in the Spring. Thank you so much for a great relaxing time!

Summary: We loved our stay! Upon arriving I noticed how clean the cabin was. We had everything we needed! Plenty of outdoor seating, a beautiful river that my 8 and 10 year olds loved playing in. It came up to their knees but pretty shallow and perfect for play. The beds are super soft which I loved. Thanks for sharing your beautiful place!
