4 Bedroom House in Dyke, Free Union

A great country home in beautiful Albemarle County! Gives the feeling of complete privacy, peace and seclusion while still only being 15 mins drive to HollyMeade Shopping Center (Target, Harris Teeter, Bonefish Grill etc) and CHO Airport and only 25 mins to Downtown Charlottesville and UVA Grounds (campus). You are also a 15 minute drive from the Swift Rung Gap Entrance Station to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. There are 4 wineries within a 10 minute drive (one is only 4 mins!).
There is a nice front porch with beautiful Mountain Views, a huge grass backyard with nice swing set, 3 fire pit areas with comfy outdoor seating areas. There is also a river on the property so you can hear water running and are welcome to swim in or fish out of the river.
There are 3 acres of yard with a small back deck and 3 different firepit areas with comfortable seating! Also the front covered porch is nice to sit on and view the mountains. One of the firepits is gas, the others are for burning wood. There is Corn Hole set for you to play and a Charcoal Grill and Smoker!
As you may lose cell service when you get close to the place, please make sure you take a screenshot of the check-in info and WiFi password beforehand.
Pets are allowed with a $100 fee per each pet for stays of 4 nights or fewer (pet fee will be greater for stays over 4 nights so please ask before booking if you'd like to check the longer stay pet fee amount). You MUST let me know about any pets in your welcome VRBO message.
*Pet fee is to be paid after booking. Pet fee is NOT included in the booking price that VRBO collects, whether or not you mark pets in the reservation.* I ask you to NOT let pets on any furniture or beds and to pick up any waste in the yard.
Firewood, charcoal, lighter fluid or other fire starters are not provided. If you would like to use the firepits or charcoal grill, please bring all the supplies you would need for this. If firepits or charcoal grill are used by guest, you are responsible for cleaning them after use so it's ready for next guest. The cleaning crew does not clean firepits or grill.
I want guests to be able to check-in as early as possible. Due to the large amount of linens to be laundered between guests and the short amount of time do it, the washer/dryer will often have linens in them so that another load can run after cleaner leaves. You are welcome to use the washer/dryer, but will sometimes have to take out a load in order to do so. If you specifically know you will use the washer/dryer during your stay and don't want to have to do this, please let me know prior to check-in and I'll tell my cleaner to leave them empty for you.
Only the number of guests that you book for are allowed on the property at any time. If you would like to increase your guest count, the nightly rate may go up and you would need to pay this difference.
You must mention in welcome message if you have pet or pets! Pet fee is $100 per pet per stay (more for stays longer than 4 nights). First pet fee is included in your rate if you mark that you have a pet on VRBO. If you have more than 1 pet or are staying longer than 4 nights, you will need to pay additional pet fee after booking.

Summary: We needed be away from home for a week while having floors refinished. Lucky for us this house was available and it was just perfect! Location was close enough to shopping but far enough out that you had no traffic to worry about. The house is a great size, well maintained and 1 level! The property was great as well. Our dog really enjoyed running along the creek and up and down the fence entertaining the cows in the pasture. :). I would recommend this house to anyway wanting a peaceful relaxing location away from hustle and bustle but still able to work if needed. Thanks for the hospitaiity!

Summary: We were very lucky to find this little gym near Charlottesville. We had a water damage emergency and had to quickly find a place for two weeks that would let us bring our dogs while repairs were made. I wasn’t that hopeful, especially since it’s summer, and then I found this. We were there for two weeks and had such a peaceful and relaxing stay! The house is very comfortable and easy to keep clean, which was important to me. The owner also left some thoughtful things like coffee and dishwashing soap, salt and pepper. The layout also worked well with the bedrooms down the hall from the common areas. There is a huge backyard that our dogs really enjoyed. There’s also access to a river or creek at the end of the property. We spent a lot of time on the front porch enjoying the Mountain View. The fire bowl in front was also a hit. I was really dreading this whole thing, and instead we felt like we were on vacation. I almost forgot about the disaster at home! Thanks!
