3 Bedroom House in Colonial Beach

Great Views from this riverfront house! This is the newest of our Beachcomber Cottages; Beachcomber IV Sunrise on Irving. Our 4th cottage is a historic waterfront farm house built in 1885 along the banks of the Potomac River. When we bought it, we loved the views and history, but didn't know what we were getting into. In May of 2018, we finished a 16 month renovation and LOVE the new home.. We are excited to share the finished product. We retained the charm and preserved the hardwood floors. Guest will enjoy water views from most windows in this 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms. Some great features is open floorplan with new kitchen, new Air Conditioning and Heat, new electric/plumbing, new staircase, a great enclosed sun-porch, screened side-porch, and fenced yard.. all with Fantastic Waterviews!
Like all Beachcomber Cottages, we are family friendly. Due to the older newly restored floors, pets will be by exception. Of course, WIFI, who could live with out it!

Summary: We love Colonial Beach. We usually stay in one of the other BeachComber Homes, which we have stayed in a number of times and love it!. This home is great but our group are a little older and the stairs were a bit of a problem. Cathy is a great person to deal with, we have been staying with them a number of years and will continue too.

Summary: Our daughter and son-in-law drove down from Maryland to join us at Colonial Beach. We had a relaxing time at Beachcomber 4. Cathy was always quick to respond to our inquiries. Great yard for kids / acceptable pet. We loved the enclosed front porch and we just stepped across the road to watch the July 4th fireworks from the pier.

Summary: This was an beautiful home right across from the water. The moon rises were incredible. The decoration, furniture, cleanliness and location were amazing. We had a blast renting a golf cart to toot around in and were there for the Halloween golf cart parade that went right past the house. Food was close by. The local brewery was great. It was a great long weekend for my college kids fall break. I would definitely recommend this place.

Summary: My adult children and I had a wonderful time over Labor Day weekend in Colonial Beach. The house was perfect--right on the water and very comfortable. There was an Osprey nest nearby. We went to the beach everyday--the weather was really nice. And a fabulous brunch at the Lighthouse restaurant. I would stay at this house again--and return to Colonial Beach for any type of short get away.

Summary: We had a 6 adults and 1 child in our party. We found the property to be exactly as described and was completely satisfying for our group. Plenty of room for socializing indoors and out, or just sitting in the front sun porch and watching the waves just across the street. The house is situated within walking distance of two sets of beaches (to the south and to the north) and when we chose to drive to the beach there was plenty of beach-side parking ($2/hour). Restaurants were open most of the days we were there. The Dockside Restaurant and Tiki-bar proved to be a favorite with plenty of outdoor space for kids to run around. We look forward to visiting again.

Summary: Lovely traditional property with enough updates to make it very comfortable. Rooms were spacious and offered many different types of accomodations - indoors, a/c sun room, screened porch, and outdoor covered seating with ceiling fans. The water-front home offers easy access to the beach, but is far enough away from the busier parts of town to be restful and quiet.

Summary: The house was roomy, well-appointed, very clean and well-maintained, and the owners could not have been more responsive. Colonial Beach is quiet during the week -- visitors, particularly those with children, should be prepared for that -- but for a peaceful laid-back holiday this can't be beat. We recommend kayaking at the Colonial Beach Yacht Center as a great midweek option! (Check days/hours in advance.)
