Positive: A quaint and beautiful property in a small village between Bra and Alba, just under the medieval Roero Castle. You can hike around the area and even book a tour of the castle. Irene, the hostess and owner of the property, was incredibly kind and was concerned about my comfort, my happiness, and made sure to give me recommendations for what to do around the area including restaurant suggestions. She and her family are warm and not the type to try and rip you off or make money off of tourists. She truly loves what she does and has incredible customer service. Irene and the family are wonderful. Breakfast was in a cute kitchen and she prepared everything herself. The rooms are spacious, the bed is comfortable, and a kitchenette is there with whatever you need to make yourself food if you plan on staying a longer time. There's a saltwater pool and a terrace where you can sunbathe with incredible views of the surroundings. The best part for me was the spa (must be reserved and paid separately). After biking for 40 km around Barolo, the spa was a haven. Hammam, Finnish Sauna, whirlpool-jet streamed hot tub, appetizers, tea/coffee, music, lounge chaise, and even a television are all in this space. Lovely. There is a delicious Pizzeria 5 mins walking distance from the property and another one that's 25 mins walking distance. I would recommend having a rental car for the entire Piedmont region. Public transportation is available between towns but it's a hassle and takes a lot of time. If you want to go from one place to the next, have a rental. There's parking available for vehicles. I recommend Rocche di Montexelo for families, couples, or solo travelers.
Negative: Not the property's fault, but I needed a rental car.

Positive: Generous breakfast consisting of fresh coffee, tea, a good portion of ham and cheese, butter, fresh boiled eggs and sliced toast breads, store bought cookies and muffins , cereals, milk and fruit juices. Highlight was the freshly baked hazel nut individual cakes offered on our last day, delicious and unforgettable taste :-) It is important to point out the cleanliness of the apartment, the quality of the furnitures and the private parking inside the property. The lady owner was very kind and accommodating, communication was very easy she speaks as well French and English, she provided us with maps and useful information where to eat and what to see in the region. We were not able to use the swimming pool and the large terrace because of the weather. The biggest 2 family apartments (37m2/32m2) where we stayed at I would say could be perfect for a family of 4/5 - a couple with 2/3 young children or a group of young people, as there is no separate bedroom, all the beds are next to each other, 1 double bed, 1 single sofa bed and a bunk bed ! (not very convenient for 2 adults but will excite 2 children :-)).

Positive: Great hostess. Communicated well and gave us a good tour of the property. Amazing what they are doing with green energy to heat and use of rainwater for the water.
Negative: Did not realize there was no separate space in the room to relax and it was too cold to enjoy the outside terrace.
