Positive: View from the room. Lunch on the outside Terrace OK. Pool area was good but across a busy road. Large balcony but no pleasant plants or furnishings on it to make it anywhere you would want to sit for long. Average buffet breakfast.

Negative: Small room. Bathroom had no room to sit on the loo! Odd that all meals - breakfast, lunch or dinner were essentially just in the only restaurant there was. Expected more facilities in such a well known hotel. Staff a bit brusque at times. No spa or gym.

Summary: Long past its best. Needs a lot of work to warrant the prices.

Positive: We came to Gibraltar to get married and decided to stay in the iconic Rock Hotel. The thing that really made our stay magical were the wonderful staff, especially the team serving in the bar. Special shout out to Jose, Mario and Agostin who went above and beyond to make us comfortable and helped us to celebrate our wedding day. We will treasure the memories we made there.

Negative: I didn’t find the bed very comfortable but my husband didn’t mind it. Shame about the scaffolding surrounding the hotel but I understand that maintenance needs to happen.

Negative: Seemed under staffed especially in breakfast area. Those that were working were really nice but just seemed to be behind a little with keeping everything topped up. Taxis were expensive.

Summary: While the rock hotel is probably the best in Gibraltar all the action is at the other end of town at the marina.
